The Rogers wrestlers, missing four regulars, beat Richfield/Edina 46-30, then lost to  Zumbrota-Mazeppa 60-6 and Bemidji 36-24 on Saturday at a Buffalo tournament.

“Philip Anderson, Sam Suedbeck, Jeremiah Rademacher, and Jeff McClay weren’t able to wrestle,” noted coach Chris Donnay. ”It’s hard to replace those guys in the lineup.  We have three section opponents on Thursday so we figured it was more important to have those guys ready for then. We did get some of our younger guys varsity experience which will help us out later in the season … At least we came back and wrestled better in the third place match.”

Jake Owens at 220 was 3-0 with a pin and two decisions for Rogers.

The Royals (3-4) will duel Spring Lake Park, Irondale and Mounds View on Thursday at Spring Lake Park.
