Hockey: Rogers girls lose to Anoka 3-2 in tournament

The Anoka Tornadoes nipped the Rogers Royals 3-2 in the first round of Armstrong’s holiday girls hockey tournament Thursday, Dec. 26, at New Hope Arena.

Blair Parent (power play), Haley Miller and Kari Manthey scored  for Anoka (4-8-1), which had a goal in each period and enjoyed a 37-21 edge in shots.

Kaitlin Braiedy notched the game’s first goal for Rogers (6-6-1). After Anoka went ahead 3-1, Madison Lehn got a power play goal 7:43 into the final period for Rogers, assisted by Ellie Feilen.

Rogers, down 3-2, went on the power play again with two minutes left, and pulled the goalie, but couldn’t get the equalizer.

In the nets were Michelle Klimstra for Rogers and Molly Scarborough for Anoka.
