The Orioles have suffered injuries to varsity regulars, which has made for many line-up changes in the first month.

“We’ve had an unusual amount of injuries so far and it’s been tough,”  said Osseo coach Alan Wiley. “I can only hope we can get everyone healthy and back on the mat.”

Carson Brolsma continued his early season run with a pin and a major decision at Andover and five more decisive wins at Eau Claire to dominate the 145 pound class. He improved to 14-0, including right falls and 2 tech-falls. On Saturday, Brolsma scored first period pins in his opening matches over Anthony Nelson of Ladysmith and Darrin Kniprath of Nekoosa/Port Edwards. The Oriole’s junior captain followed with a technical fall at 5:04 over Ryan Kottschade of Plainview-Eligin-Millville and a fall over Brenden Randall of Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 3:26, before scoring a title round technical fall over Lacrosse Central’s Connor Williams at 5:18.

Also earning medalist honors at Eau Claire was freshman Mitchell Lewison, who finished third in a competitive 106 pound class, with his only loss to the eventual champion. Lewison also added a pair of wins on Friday night and now stands at 9-3 on the season. Classmate Nicholas Carline finished fifth at 113 and has also reached the nine-win mark at 9-5. Eighth grader Adam Lanners (sixth at 120) and senior Badhasa Wako (fourth at 152) also turned in strong efforts to finish near the top in their divisions.
