Longtime St. Michael residents Ike and Karol Eichelberg had the honor of lighting St. Michael’s Holiday Tree during the Second Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration is sponsored by STMA Rotary and Shop Saint Michael.

The Eichelbergs were nominated for their commitment to the community and for exemplifying Rotary’s values of service above self. Ike is a former STMA teacher and former Wright County Commissioner. He and Carol have been very influential in the American Legion’s Boys and Girls State program.

Free sandwiches, chips cookies, bars, and punch and coffee were served. The free event includes a toy and children’s book drive for the Hanover Area Food Shelf. Attendees were encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy or children’s book.
