The Rockford Education Foundation held its annual fundraiser last month at the Rockford Township Hall.

With attendance nearing 200, and a “Back to the ’80s” theme, the packed house enjoyed music and food. With more than 100 silent auction items donated by businesses and individuals, along with raffle items and cash prizes, this event raised funds to support the mission of the Education Foundation: to enhance student learning.

With the funds raised at this bash, the foundation crosses the $600,000 mark in total funds raised since it began in 2004. The generosity of supporters will directly benefit the students of Rockford Area Schools, District 883. The evening alone raised just more than $20,000. Several area businesses stepped up to sponsor the event.
