The Hennepin County Transportation Department will host an informal public meeting on the county’s stormwater pollution prevention program (SWPPP) from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the county’s Public Works Facility, 1600 Prairie Drive in Medina.
The SWPPP is the county’s stormwater management program that supports and protects the stormwater that runs through the county’s catch basins, culverts and other related infrastructure. Staff will be available to answer questions or address any concerns residents may have about the program. An advance copy is available by calling 612-596-0299, or for review at the Hennepin County Public Works Facility, 1600 Prairie Drive in Medina.
The Transportation Department’s Road & Bridge Division is responsible for program development and administration of the program with the intent of minimizing the discharge of pollutants from the county’s storm sewer system. This meeting is required by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Storm Water Phase II Rules.
