Arrests

Corcoran Police reported a narcotics arrest Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10:30 p.m. at 78XX Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Thongphoun NMN Khampanya, 26, of Ramsey for possession of narcotics, giving a Police Officer a false name, driving after revocation, possession of drug paraphernalia and for speeding.

Property damage

The department reported a property damage accident Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:48 a.m. in the area of County Rd. 30 and County Rd. 101.  Both vehicles were eastbound on County Rd. 30, stopped for a red light at County Rd. 101. When the light turned green, vehicle #1 accelerated before the vehicles in front of them had moved forward, thus striking the rear end of vehicle #2. No injuries were reported.

The department reported a property damage incident Sunday, Dec. 1 at 8:08 a.m. in the area of 210XX Horseshoe Tr. The reporting party stated that on Tuesday, Nov. 26, an unknown person(s) had damaged theirs and their son’s mailboxes by throwing a traffic cone at them. The mailboxes were repaired and sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) threw a pumpkin at their son’s mailbox causing damage to the box and pole. There are no identifiable suspects at this time.

Medicals

The department responded to a medical emergency Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 11:18 p.m. in the 98XX block of Chisholm Tr. A 4 year old male was having trouble breathing and was coughing. The patient was transported to Maple Grove Hospital by North Ambulance.

Miscellaneous

The department responded to a report of harassment on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:44 p.m. in the 67XX block of Horseshoe Bend Dr. The reporting party stated they had received two phone calls from a number they were not familiar with. The caller ID showed it was coming from St. Cloud State Prison. The Officer advised the reporting party that with today’s technology, the caller can change the caller ID to read whatever they want it to say. The Officer advised it was most likely a scam where they were trying to get credit card information.

The department responded to a report of a tree fire on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:32 p.m. in the 91XX block of County Rd. 116. The Officer and Rogers Fire Department arrived on scene and found a large bon fire that had a mattress on it. The homeowner was warned by Rogers Fire Department.

The department responded to a report of a runaway juvenile on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 8:53 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated their 14 year old daughter had run away from home. Officers checked the area for the missing juvenile and located her in the laundry room. The juvenile was returned home.

The department responded to a report of a civil issue on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 12:10 p.m. in the 65XX block of Park Trail Rd. The reporting party wanted to report their 5 year old daughter was missing and they would like her back. The reporting party had dropped the child off with her father in August and has not seen her since. They advised the child is enrolled in school in Rockford. The reporting party wanted the Corcoran Police Department to go and get the child and bring her back. Officers explained that the Corcoran Police Department does not have the authority to remove a child from a parent’s custody without proper court custody paperwork. Officers advised the reporting party to get a child custody court order.

The department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10:26 p.m. in the area of 210XX Horseshoe Tr. The reporting party stated there was a vehicle parked in front of their residence with the lights off. Officers arrived and located the vehicle. There was a 17 year old male and an 18 year old female in the vehicle. Officers advised the parties Officers had received a complaint and they needed to move along. The parties complied.

The department responded to a report of suspicious activity on Friday, Nov. 29 at 12:07 p.m. in the 237XX block of Pioneer Tr. The reporting party stated they received a suspicious solicitor phone call. The caller advised the reporting party that their computer had been compromised and they offered to sell them software to protect the computer. The reporting party advised the caller they do not own a computer and hung up.

The department responded to a report of a domestic on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1:09 a.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The Officers arrived on scene and found the verbal argument was about prior relationships both parties had before this relationship. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening and discuss this further in the morning.

The department responded to a report of a grass fire on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 1:07 p.m. in the 72XX block of Rolling Hills Rd. The reporting party stated there were about 8 bales of hay on fire. A bobcat was too close and the muffler started the hay on fire. Loretto Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire.

The department responded to a report of shots heard on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 4:57 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated they heard 4 gunshots coming from the field south of the reporting party’s residence. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anything.

The department responded to a report of a strong gas odor on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 7:33 p.m. in the area of County Rd. 19 and Highway 55. The reporting party stated there was a strong natural gas odor near the intersection. Officers arrived in the area and were unable to locate anything. Loretto Fire Department arrived and started the gas company.

The department responded to a report of an assault on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 10:28 p.m. in the area of County Rd. 101 and County Rd. 30. The reporting party stated two females had assaulted them. Officers arrived to find two intoxicated females had called a cab to take them home. One of the females had struck the cab driver in the head and so the cab driver turned the cab around and went back. They then called 911. When another party attempted to assist the cab driver get the females out of the cab, the female started hitting them. One of the females was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and the other was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and assault.
