Robert Pepin

age 87, of Hamel, Minnesota joined his beloved wife Rita (nee Schommer), on November 17, 2013. Preceded in death by father, Arthur, his mother Katherine, brother Gervase. Survived by sisters, Betty Mingo, Doris Hagberg-Kemna, Mary Lou Pearson (Larry), Ruth Ann Burgess (Carl), and sister-in-law, Elane Pepin-Kielb. Also survived by children, Kathy, Mary Pepin-Bakeberg (Greg), Bob (Carole), Henry (Kathy), Dave (Kris), Patricia Washatka (Jerry), and Ron; grandchildren Mike, Matt and Shannon Pepin, Katie Heesen (Eric), Jenna and Lee (Mary) Pepin, Sierra Pepin, and Ellen, Billy, and Nick Washatka; great-grandchildren, Evan Heesen, Francis and James Pepin, Easton Jolicoeur, and Lillian Washatka; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Lifelong resident of the Hamel and Loretto area, Robert enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served in the South Pacific aboard the USS AKA-99 Rolette. He retired from Adolfphson & Peterson Construction and was a member of the Local 49 Union. He and his family operated Pepins Boat Rental on Lake Peter in Medina. Robert and Rita also managed a Minneapolis Star Tribune Rural Paper Route for many years. Throughout his life he enjoyed raising cattle and chickens and farming his land. He is a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Hamel and belongs to St. Peter & Paul Parish in Loretto. A special Thank You to the staff at Cornerstone Commons Assisted Living in Plymouth and we are very grateful to the nursing staff at St. Therese Nursing Home, New Hope, and the North Memorial Hospice Team for their loving care these last ten days.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Nov. 21st at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Parkinsons Association of Minnesota, the Alzheimers Association, or to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Arrangements with Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel (763-553-1411)
