Legion steak fry

NOV. 22 — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 172 will be hosting a steak fry Friday, Nov. 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Serving walleye, shrimp and combo steak and shrimp dinners. There will also be a Bake Sale in conjunction with the steak fry, come and get baked goods, homemade candies, bars, breads and so much more to choose from.

NOV. 23 — Author Sarah Baumgard of Maple Grove will be signing copies of her book, In the Mirror I Saw Saturday, Nov. 23, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Dunn Bros Coffee, 7899 Main St. N, Maple Grove. Legion Riders

Thanksgiving dinner

NOV. 28 — Thursday, Nov. 28, the Legion Riders will be serving a turkey dinner with all the fixings from noon until 4 p.m. at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E., Osseo. Costs is $10 per adult, $5 for kids 6 through 10, and free for ages 5 and under. Funds raised support a variety of different veteran organizations within the community and state. AIDS/human trafficking

DEC. 1 — World AIDS and International anti  – human trafficking day event is Sunday, Dec. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. at 9528 Rosewood Lane N  Maple Grove. A boutique  of international hand made items from Africa, India, Nepal and America. Women from around the world have made beautiful items  so they can be free  from sex trafficking  and prevent HIV/AIDS. Lunch will be provided with chai tea. DEC. 6 & 7 — The annual Osseo Minidazzle Holiday event will be Friday, Dec. 6, starting at 6 p.m. The following day, Saturday, Dec. 7, will be a Lunch with Santa event at 11 a.m.

Sleigh Bells/parade

DEC. 7 — Join Maple Grove Community Organization, Arbor Lakes Business Association and other Maple Grove businesses as they bring the holiday season off to a grand start with the Hometown Holiday on Main Street and Sleigh Bells & Sparkle Parade Saturday, Dec. 7. The holiday fun begins at 4 p.m. and runs through to 8 p.m. at the Arbor Lakes Business Association’s annual Hometown Holiday on Main Street with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, music on the Plaza at the North End of Main Street, treats, contests, carriage rides and surprises. Stick around as Santa joins the ranks in the fourth annual Sleigh Bells & Sparkle Parade. Come line up to watch the parade units as their lights sparkle and twinkle in the evening sky beginning at 5 p.m., viewing area is on Main Street from the corner of Schuler Shoes/Chico’s continuing around the corner on Arbor Lakes Parkway to the Government Center parking lot entrance.

Santa visit

DEC. 7 —  Santa is planning a visit to the Maple Grove Community Center Saturday, Dec. 7. Maple Grove Community Organization, Maple Grove Lions will once again host a Breakfast/Lunch with Santa. Families are invited to spend the morning having a relaxing breakfast or lunch before sharing their list of wishes with Santa. Plan to bring your own camera for your memory photo with Santa, Maple Grove Ambassadors will provide camera assistance for a family photo with Santa. Other activities included in the ticket price are children’s novelty games, face painting, craft projects and a cake walk. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1, breakfast price is $4 and is served from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and lunch price is $6.00 and is served from 11 am to 1 pm. Maple Grove Historical Museum Open

DEC. 8 — The Maple Grove History Museum, 9030 Forestview Lane, will be open the second Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Use the south driveway to enter and park. Visitors are welcome to drop by and see the current displays. Check out the very labor intensive method of doing the laundry in days of yesteryear.
