Oct. 15, 4:32 p.m. Someone dumped cement blocks and concrete slabs and siphoned gas out of an RV in 8700 block of Highway 12.
Oct. 8, 1:28 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle at 6200 block of County Road 11. A 47-year-old Montrose male was found inside the garage digging through items in a wooden storage box. He said he did not live at the residence and was just looking for a house number to find the owners. Charges pending for third-degree burglary.
Oct. 8, 8:44 a.m. Boat trailer stolen from 1300 block of Budd Avenue. Approximate loss value of $5,000.
Oct. 5, 2:40 p.m. What appeared to be a white vehicle struck a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 6600 block of Fox Ridge Circle.
Oct. 4, 5:25 p.m. Jogger found a male on the ground, next to a crashed four-wheeler in 6700 block of Pagenkopf Road. Officers found rider Rusty Baumeister, 32, of Independence, lying next to the ATV. He was unconscious, unresponsive, had difficulty breathing and had sustained a severe head injury. He was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital via North Memorial Air Care.
Oct. 4, 10:10 a.m. Diane Marie Whipple, 39, of Buffalo, was arrested at Highway 12 and Lake Haughey Road for giving a peace officer a false name, that of another person, driving after revocation of license and no insurance on vehicle owner.
Oct. 3, 9:16 p.m. Melissa Leigh Ponting, 36, of Montrose, was arrested for third-degree DWI and open bottle in motor vehicle at Highway 12 and County Road 90 with a blood alcohol content of 0.20.
Oct. 2, 6:22 p.m. Grass fire reported in 3100 block of Nelson Road. Homeowner had a permit to burn, the burn pile had been out of control for a few minutes, but the property owner was able to use his garden hose to get it under control. The pile of burning brush accidentally caught the asphalt roof of his wishing well on fire, thus causing a large cloud of black smoke. Delano Fire Department had responded to the call.
Oct. 1, 5:08 p.m. Homeowner reported mailbox damage in 4900 block of Deer Ridge Trail. Truck tire tracks indicated that a truck had cut the corner at the end of the driveway, run over the address sign and also struck the mailbox, breaking the decorative post and placing a scratch in the side of the box. Approximate loss is more than $500.
Oct. 15, 10:04 p.m. Reported theft in 1600 block of Marsh Avenue of a purse and prescriptions from a vehicle. Theft occurred on Sept. 22.
Oct. 14, 12:05 p.m. A 1983, 15-horsepower Evinrude outboard boat motor was reported stolen from 1600 block of Marsh Avenue. Approximate loss between $700 and $1,000.
Oct. 13, 1:30 p.m. Property damage to storage lockers at 1800 Newport St.
Oct. 13, 8:52 a.m. Someone stole the radio out of a car in the 1800 block of Budd Avenue, damaged the steering column extensively while trying to start the vehicle and damaged the driver’s side key hole.
Oct. 11, 3:37 p.m. Someone struck a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Howard Avenue and left the scene. Damage to the driver’s door.
Oct. 8, 8:22 p.m. Homeowner found a pallet with a stereo on it by a garage in 1800 block of Newport Street. The stereo matched the one in a theft from vehicle reported on Oct. 13.
Oct. 7, 8:50 p.m. A 32-year-old Maple Plain male was arrested for DUI, no insurance, driving after license suspension and open bottle at Baker Park Road and Highway 12.
Oct. 7, 10:07 a.m. Resident in 5200 block of Manchester Drive reported the drywall between his garage and the garage next to it was ripped off to gain access to his garage. Footprints were on his vehicle and the vehicle had some paint damage.
Oct. 7, 7:20 a.m. Two bicycles were reported stolen from a garage in 1800 block of Newport Street. Tools, projector and camera also were stolen. A set of bike tracks were found going south through the grass. The bicycle was recovered.
Oct. 3, 7:35 p.m. Fire call for a pan on fire on a stove in 1400 block of Three Oaks Avenue. Maple Plain Fire Department arrived and checked the house.
Oct. 3, 5:33 p.m. Report that someone took a purse, cash, Visa card and house key from a house at 4900 block of Main Street East.
Oct. 3, 5:03 a.m. Report of a suspicious person with a backpack going into dumpsters behind 5200 block of Main Street East, then got on a bicycle and rode off. Officer found 38-year-old female from Independence who admitted she was dumpster diving for pop cans, scrap metal and copper. She said she takes anything else that seems valuable that is in the dumpster. In her bag were a pair of coveralls, a couple of screwdrivers, several pieces of old copper wire, a leather tool holder and miscellaneous electrical parts. She was told that the dumpsters were on private property. She would need property owner’s permission before digging in them.
Oct. 2, 1:43 a.m. Samantha Elizabeth Chapman, 27, of Plymouth, second degree DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 at Halgren Road and Highway 12. Vehicle forfeiture pending.
