OCT. 24 — Corcoran City Council will meet will next meet Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at city hall at 8200 County Rd. 116.

Library book sale

OCT. 26 — The Friends of the St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Library will be hosting its Fall Book Sale Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the bag sale beginning at 1 p.m.

The sale will take place in the City Council Chambers located at 11800 Town Center Dr. in St. Michael. Paperbacks and VHS videos will be for sale for 50 cents; trade paperbacks, DVDs and hard covers $1; and best-seller items and some special sets will be for sale price as marked. Donations are currently being accepted at the library during open hours. The library is NOT accepting textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed books, magazines or any books with mold or mildew damage. All proceeds will go to the the Friends of the St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Library to support programming, special equipment, and furnishings for the library. No pre-sales or scanning devices are allowed. Volunteers are needed for set-up, sale day and take-down, inquire at 497-1998.

Craft and bake sale

OCT. 26 — St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hanover is hosting its annual craft and bake sale Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lunch will served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lunch menu includes chicken wild rice soup, chili, pulled pork sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, bar, coffee and milk.

Proceeds from the sale go to the Mission Commission for the orphanage in Haiti that St. Paul’s sponsors. All are welcome.

‘Country Hoedown’ fundraiser

OCT. 26 — Hillside HOPE Thru Hooves will be hosting its fifth annual Fall Fundraising Event “A Country Hoedown ~ Raising Awareness for Mental Health,” Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Rogers Community Room, 21201 Memorial Dr. Doors open at 5:30 with Silent Auction / Raffle, Dinner and program at 6 p.m. Entertainment: DJ & the Rowdy Cowboy Show & special guests ~ The Black Labels Dance Team for specialty line dancing. Come dressed as a favorite country western entertainer or cowboy/cowgirl attire and win a prize for best costume.  Tickets are $30 and can be purchased on line at or by calling 612-840-5366. This is an 18 + event, so grab your partner, friends, neighbors, & come on out for a great cause. Proceeds from this event will be used for client scholarships and program expense.

Food/clothing drive, Halloween Party

OCT. 26 — Join this year at one of the three locations for the 6th Annual CommUNITY Food and Clothing Drive to help us supply the Hanover Area Food Shelf with items for those in need this winter, plus a free Trick-or-Trunk Halloween Party. Bring children to the Alleluia Lutheran Church Land (located along 30th St NE in St. Michael, just west of County Rd. 19) for the Trick-or-Trunk Halloween Party Saturday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. Children will stroll around the decorated themed vehicles and get neat treats. While there, drop off food and winter clothing donations to benefit the Hanover Area Food Shelf. Want to donate non-perishable food and winter clothing? Stop by Coborn’s in Albertville or Marketplace in St. Michael between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Winter clothing should be new or clean and gently-used with working zippers, fasteners, etc. This event is organized by Alleluia Lutheran Church and assisted by area Girl Scouts. Lions Halloween Party

OCT. 27 — The Albertville Lions will be hosting a  Community Halloween Party Sunday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. This free event will be at

Albertville Central Park- Lower Shelter. Activities for the family include: Paint and Take a Pumpkin (while supplies last), Zombie Water Bombs, Halloween Crafts, Games and Refreshments and a Halloween Costume Contest (Judging takes place at 3:30 p.m.).

Lions Pancake Breakfast

OCT. 27 — The Hanover Lions Club will be having its annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Hanover City Hall. Breakfast will be served from 8 am to noon. The menu includes pancakes, french toast, great grilled sausage from Dehmers, juice, milk and coffee. We will also be serving our special blueberry pancakes for all to enjoy. The prices remain the same as in the past, $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for kids under 12. All proceeds from this event are used to support local groups and programs. The Hanover Fire Department, the Hanover Food Shelf, and local scout groups are some of the people that benefit. Anyone interested in donating some time to help ‘flip pancakes’ is welcome. Quilt bingo

OCT. 27 — St. Michael Catholic School along with Catholic United Financial is hosting quilt bingo Sunday, Oct. 27. A handmade quilt can be yours with a winning bingo. Four games of bingo have a cash prize. Kids, you may enter the drawing to win one of the two bikes to be given away. Food will be served beginning at noon. Bingo begins at 1 p.m.

Bingo for Band

OCT. 28 — Bingo for Band is Monday, Oct. 28 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rogers Community Center 21201 Memorial Drive. Join for a night of fun, games and music. RHS Band Boosters are sponsoring this family friendly event of bingo with cash prizes, optional costume contest, bake sale and new this year a performance by the RHS Jazz Band. STMA ‘Trick or Canning’

OCT. 31 — St. Michael-Albertville National Honor Society (NHS) is going Trick or Canning Thursday, Oct. 31, in most St. Michael neighborhoods. Participants will be asked to donate non-perishable food items for the Hanover Food Shelf. STMA NHS students will be going around collecting the food.

Holiday Bazaar

NOV. 9 — The annual Mary Queen of Peace Holiday Bazaar will be Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Church hall located at 21304 Church Ave in downtown Rogers. Enjoy crafts, bake goods, theme baskets and raffle items. Coffee and Egg bake available in the morning and Chicken Soup lunch beginning at 11 a.m. All are welcome.


NOV. 10 — St. Michael Central MOMS Club BUNCO fundraiser to raise money to support participation in Adopt a Family at Christmas will be Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Liberty Restaurant in St. Michael at 1 p.m. Doors open at 12:30. NOV. 10 — Knights of Columbus BINGO is Sunday, Nov. 10, starting promptly at 2 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Hall St. Martin campus – downtown Rogers. Kids are welcome to play. NOV. 15 — The Hanover Fire Department wishes to invite everyone to the annual Poultry Social Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Hanover City Hall. Come for food, fun and BINGO. Proceeds to the Hanover Fire Relief Association.

KC Lumberjack Breakfast

NOV. 17 – “It’s the famous KC Lumberjack Breakfast … you better be hungry!” is Sunday, Nov. 17, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church Hall, St. Martin Campus (Downtown Rogers). Menu includes pancakes, French toast, hash browns, sausage and eggs, orange juice, milk and coffee. Free will offering, proceeds benefit church, school and community.
