The Champlin Park Marching Rebels performed their telling of the Godfather story in “The Legacy” at the Youth in Music Championships held at the Metrodome on Saturday, Oct. 12. This year, the event featured a large lineup of 22 bands from 5 different states.
Nine years ago the Youth In Music Championships were just a dream and an idea. Since then, Youth in Music has grown from 9 to 20 bands and 1,400 to 6,000 in attendance. The Youth in Music Champlionships have quickly become one of the premier marching band events in the Midwest. Featured exhibitions were presented by Minne-Brass, University of Minnesota Marching Band, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse Marching Band and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Marching Band.
This year Champlin Park High School scored 70.3 points in the Class A Youth in Music Championship daytime show.
