Gather up creative goblins and spend the afternoon at the Hanover Historical Society’s third annual Pumpkin Decorating Festival Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
This year the event is relocating to downtown near the historic bridge and sharing the spotlight with Oktoberfest activities.
Bring creative goblins/grand goblins in costume, and the Hanover Historical Society will furnish the pumpkins and art supplies. Masterpiece decorating goes on from 3 to 4 p.m. with pumpkin judging at 4 p.m. The children’s costume contest winners will also be announced at 4. Winners must be present.
Bring cameras and snap “scary” photos of children with Rowdy the Scarecrow. Needle in the Haystack and ongoing mini pumpkin golf games while waiting for the judging. Enjoy free cookies and orange drink.
Rain or shine, bring out the family and spend a few hours enjoying this family-friendly event under a tent. Afterwards, enjoy music, food and beer as part of the Oktoberfest activities.
This event is sponsored by the Hanover Historical Society along with a donation from the Hanover Athletic Association. For more information about the event, call Tim Zimmerman at 763-370-7373.
