Rogers’ unbeaten doubles team of Julie Sporer and Rachel Dodd advanced to the Section 5AA semifinals with two wins on Monday.
Sporer and Dodd, both seniors, were seeded second and had a first-round bye. They beat Anoka’s Cassidy Sarazine and Claire Lundberg 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, and Coon Rapids’ Michaela Grainger and Lauren Beckman, at Read-Sweat courts in Minneapolis.
They’ll face No. 6 seeded Jessica Kelley and Emily Sjostrom of Champlin Park on Friday while a top-seeded Centennial teams faces a Coon Rapids duo in the other semifinal, both at 8 a.m. Finals will follow.
The top two in each section advances to the state tournament.
Rogers other doubles entrant, Sydney Livingston and Dhriti Jagannathon, beat Mounds View’s Kenzie Anderson and Alison McLean 6-2, 6-2, then lost to the top-seeded Centennial team, Emily Johnson and Meghan Longen, 6-2, 6-2.
Royal freshman Samantha Fitzpatrick won twice before being ousted. Fitzpatrick, seeded No. 7, beat Coon Rapids’ Sarah Brinda 6-3, 6-3, and Park Center’s Reyna Perry 6-1, 6-0. Centennial’s Jenna Sundstom, seeded second, stopped Fitzpatrick 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
Lauren Dunham of Rogers lost in the first round to Spring Lake Park’s Paxton Alto 6-3, 6-4.
