The Champlin city council will convene Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in the city council chambers. The council meeting will be cablecast live on channel 16. Following the council meeting there will be a council work session to tour neighborhoods of Champlin. The council plans to review street light options within the city during the tour.
Under special presentations the council will give an overview of the Oct. 7 work session regarding the budget overview. The city reviewed the proposed 2014 departmental budgets including parks and public works, community development, engineering, police and fire departments, administration and governmental services and finance.
The consent agenda items for the Oct. 15 meeting include the appointment of the public service worker at the Champlin ice forum, the approval of the bids for a fire bay floor covering and a massage therapist license for summit chiropractic.
Under public hearings, the council will discuss an on sale intoxicating liquor license and Sunday sales license for Hudy’s cage and the Lil’ Bar.
Under new business the council will consider the approval of a conditional user permit to add 900-square-foot bar/restaurant to Hudy’s Cafe in Champlin. There will also be a consideration of a lot split at 106 Kimball Dr. as well as a CTI community video contract extension. Lastly, the council will consider amending the zoning ordinance by reducing the street side yard setback in R-1 zoning districts from 25 to 20 ft.
