STMA stayed unbeaten by thrashing Duluth East on Friday.

Dallas Freeman picked up right where he left off on homecoming night by scampering for a 65 yard rushing touchdown just 18 seconds into the game.  STMA missed the extra point, leaving the score at 6-0.

Later in the quarter, quarterback Jackson Greenwaldt rushed for a nine yard touchdown of his own, extending the lead to 12-0 off of a second missed PAT. Early in the second quarter, Greenwaldt hooked up with Freeman on a 31 yard touchdown pass.  This time, the Knights attempted a two point conversion, and Greenwaldt ran it in for a 20-0 lead.

With just seconds left in the half, Noah Evans broke free for a 49 yard rushing touchdown, giving the Knights a 26-0 lead (another missed PAT). Evans ran for a second touchdown early in the third quarter, and STMA’s first successful PAT of the night led to a 33-0 score.

STMA scored its final points of the evening on a nine yard touchdown run by Luke Eicher, pushing the lead to 40-0. Duluth East scored its only points on a touchdown pass from Kenyatta Mooers to Ryan Downing, cutting the lead to 40-6.

Seven Knights players ran rushing plays on the evening (Freeman, Evans, Henry Berning, Greenwaldt, Jordan Joseph, Chris Kartes and Eicher). Kartes led the Knights with 124 yards as the team rushed for over 300.

STMA welcomes Cambridge-Isanti (2-2 conference, 4-2 overall) for its final regular season home game tomorrow night.
