Maple Grove woman dies in 2 vehicle crash in Brooklyn Center

A 62-year-old Maple Grove woman died Monday after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 694 at Shingle Creek Parkway in Brooklyn Center, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

JoAnn Rogers was driving her vehicle on the shoulder to get around traffic, according to the patrol’s incident report, and crashed into the tractor-trailer when she entered the right lane at 7:50 p.m.

Traffic, including the semi truck, was stopped on Interstate 694 due to congestion. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 56-year-old Kenneth Spaid, of Nissaw, was not injured in the crash, according to State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske.

The crash remains under investigation, he said.
