The Rogers Royals girls coasted past St. Cloud Apollo 11-0 at home Saturday, capping a three-win week.

Tessa Quintavalle and Jenna Breseman each knocked in three goals for the Royals. Macy Peterson, Jenna Trochlil, Courtney Henderson, Miranda Anderson, and Heather Kilber had one each.

The Royals notched 10 goals in the second half after dominating the first half but scoring only once.

Rogers had lost four straight matches before notching three shutout wins in the past week.

They defeated Monticello 3-0 on Tuesday with Henderson, Breseman and Trochlil scoring, and beat St. Francis 2-0 on Thursday with Trochlill notching both goals, assisted by Quintavalle and Breseman.

Those were the first two conference games.

In goal were Olivia Johnson for the Monticello and Apollo games, and Lydia Hubert-Peterson for the St. Francis game.

“I think the girls found some chemistry by doing some team bonding,” said coach Holly Sutton about her team’s breakout week. “They are coming together and it’s starting to show on the field.”

The Royals are 2-2 in the Mississippi 8 and 4-4 overall. They’ll play at Cambridge-Isanti on Tuesday.
