An 8 p.m. fireworks display will top off Medina Celebration Day, Saturday, Sept. 21, at Hamel Legion Park, 3200 Mill Drive, Medina.

Many popular attractions will be back. Between 4 and 7:30 p.m., visitors can browse through a business expo and farmers market, play bingo and stop at food vendors, some of which will have free munchies. From 4:30-7:30 p.m., available activities will include face painting, rides on an antique Hamel fire truck, visits with Smokey the Bear, a K-9 demonstration, two inflatable bounce structures for youngsters, a helicopter visit, a police car demonstration, a city plow truck, games, arts and crafts and a bonfire with s’mores.

At 7:30 p.m., prizes will be drawn for adults and kids.

Linda Lane, who is coordinating the event for the city of Medina, is expecting this year’s Celebration Day to be bigger and better as far as attendance is concerned. Many new homeowners live within walking distance of Hamel Legion Park.

She is looking forward to seeing the booths of new businesses. “Each year we get new ones,” she said. “It’s always exciting to see what that’s all about.”
