New ambassadors, and junior ambassadors, will be popping up around the City of Rockford as they participate in community events and promotions. They will also represent the city in festivities outside of the community, and rack up some major float time.

One of the Ambassadors will go on to represent Rockford at the annual Aquatennial celebration in July where she will be eligible to compete for Queen of the Lakes. In an interesting twist, the Rockford Lions (who sponsor the Ambassador candidate moving forward) will open a sealed envelope at their first meeting of 2014 and declare which girl has been chosen.

The Rockford Ambassador contest is a scholarship program and a great opportunity to become involved in the community. For more information on the program, go to  www.rockfordambassadors.weebly.com

It’s never too early to start thinking about your future, your city, and scholarship opportunities.
