Sandy (Weese) Herman, of Rockford, has been hospitalized with AML since June 7 and faces continued treatment. A benefit to help defray her climbing medical bill is slated for Friday, Sept. 13, in Delano.

There will be a spaghetti dinner and benefit for Sandy (Weese) Herman on Friday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at  the Delano American Legion (200 Babcock Blvd.). Aside from dinner, there will be a silent auction (ending at 7:15), a bake sale and door prize drawings throughout the evening.

Herman is a Rockford resident recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Luekemia (AML). She has been hospitalized since June 7.

Clinical trial treatments are planned, as three rounds of chemotherapy did not produce the desired results.  A bone marrow/stem cell transplant is also planned. Sandy was disabled previously and unable to work. She was donating her time at the Rockford RiverWorks Thrift Store.

Money raised through this benefit will go toward Herman’s  medical expenses.

If you are unable to attend, you have the opportunity to donate online at: http://gfwd.at/15Kw4t7  or by mail to: BankWest P.O. Box 219, Rockford, MN 55373.
