Osseo Lions Roar

SEPT. 6 TO 7 — This year’s Osseo Lions Roar event will take place Friday, Sept. 6 to Saturday, Sept. 7. The parade will begin at noon on Sept. 7. There will be cake and ice cream served from noon to 4 p.m. and bingo from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Osseo Senior Center, 415 Central Ave.

Osseo School Board

SEPT. 10 — The Osseo School Board will have a work session Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. in the forum room of the Education Service Center, 11200 93rd Ave. in Maple Grove. A property committee meeting will follow at 8 p.m. in the board room and policy committee meeting at 8 p.m. in room W-42 of the ESC. These meetings are open to the public.

Housing for All bus tour

SEPT. 12 — Community leaders have organized the seventh annual Housing For All bus tour Thursday, Sept. 12, in the west metro. The event is free and open to the public. The event is intended to offer a first-hand view of what affordable housing looks like in the area – and a window to learn about issues of homelessness and the challenges low-wage earners face when seeking housing. The bus tour, from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m., will include a light dinner. Participants will meet at IOCP offices. Stops are planned at Wayzata Community Church, where congregation members will be hosting families experiencing homelessness as part of the Families Moving Forward program, and Boulevard Apartments, affordable housing in Wayzata. Housing for All is a community group supporting proposed affordable developments, promoting land trust homes, and engaging businesses and community leaders to equally promote affordable housing in the northwest suburbs. Yellow Tree production

SEPT. 13 TO OCT. 13 — Yellow Tree Theatre, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo, will present “On Golden Pond” Sept. 13 to Oct. 13. The production stars Jon Cranney and Katherine Ferrand. Performances will be Wednesdays to Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There will be no performance Sept. 15. Tickets are $17 on Wednesdays, $20 on Thursdays and Sundays and $23 on Fridays and Saturdays. Students, seniors and groups of 10 or more receive $3 off. SEPT. 19 — The Maple Grove Arts Council, a local nonprofit and sponsor of such events as the annual KidStock, the Maple Grove Jazz Ensemble and the Autumn Art Fair at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, has a meeting of its Board of Director the evening of the third Tuesday of each month.
