Corcoran Police reported a DWI arrest Saturday, Aug. 24 at 8:43 p.m. at County Rd. 30 and Sundance Rd. Arrested was Jose Luis Rodriguez, 31, of Albertville for 4th Degree Misd DWI with a .18 BAC.
Corcoran Police reported a domestic assault arrest Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 7:19 p.m. at 63XX Pioneer Tr. Arrested was Mark Duane Solsback, 51, of Corcoran for domestic assault.
Corcoran Police reported a DAS arrest Friday, Aug. 23 at 11:52 p.m. at County Rd. 116 and County Rd. 30. Arrested was Jacob Norman Wilmes, 22, of Maple Grove for driving after suspension of his driver’s license.
The department reported a property damage accident Thursday, Aug. 22 at 5:13 p.m. in the area of County Rd. 116 and County Rd. 10. Vehicle #1 was stopped in traffic. Driver of vehicle #2 said the traffic in front of them started to move and then stopped. When they tried to stop, the accelerator on their vehicle was stuck on. They were applying the brake, but nothing happened and they struck the rear of vehicle #1. No injuries were reported.
Theft of a trailer was reported Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 1:17 p.m. in the 232XX block of Highway 55. The reporting party stated they had a U-Haul trailer on their property that is now missing. Sometime between 08:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 and 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 the trailer went missing. It was not rented out to anyone. The next morning the reporting party called to say the trailer reappeared.
The department responded to a medical emergency Monday, Aug. 19 at 8:00 a.m. in the 107XX block of County Rd. 116. A 78 year old male was believed to be suffering a stroke. The patient was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by North Ambulance.
The department responded to a medical emergency Saturday, Aug. 24 at 8:47 p.m. in the 228XX block of County Rd. 50. A 51 year old female was sounding disoriented, may possibly be having a diabetic reaction. The patient was transported to Maple Grove Hospital by North Ambulance.
The department responded to a report of fraud on Monday, Aug. 19 at 11:36 a.m. in the 107XX block of Robert La. The reporting party stated they had received a package that they had not ordered. It was in the name of their business, but the package had a name of another person as well. The originating company of the package has opened a fraud case. There are no identifiable suspects in this case at this time.
The department responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Monday, Aug. 19 at 1:25 p.m. in the area of Kalk Rd. and Larkin Rd. The reporting party stated there was a vehicle and an ATV racing down the road. The Officer was able to locate the ATV and spoke with the 14 year old driver of the ATV. The Officer was able to locate the driver of the vehicle as well. They advised they were not racing down the street; they stated the vehicle was passing the ATV to get to the residence. The Officer spoke with the juvenile and their father about the proper usage for an ATV.
The department responded to a report of a scam on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 1:05 p.m. in the 77XX block of Corcoran Tr. E. The reporting party stated they received a phone call in regards to loan applications they placed online. A male with a thick accent had called and asked the reporting party for their bank account information. After they hung up they felt that it wasn’t right so they looked up the number and found multiple ID theft complaints associated with this phone number. The reporting party is going to have their bank account closed. No loss at this time.
The department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:09 a.m. in the area of County Rd. 19 and Larsen Rd. The reporting party stated there was a gray van with 2 ladders on top of it, driving slowing through the neighborhood. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
The department responded to a report of trespassing on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 12:17 p.m. in the 89XX block of King Ben Rd. The reporting party stated there was an unknown person(s) partying in the cul-de-sac. Officers arrived on scene and found remnants of a recreational fire in the middle of the cul-de-sac along with a propane tank sitting inside the fire remnants.
The department responded to a report of an assault on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 8:54 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated the victim was bleeding from the mouth, having a hard time breathing and was jumped by a bunch of people. Officers arrived on scene to find this was an on-going issue between several juvenile females, which led to the victim being assaulted tonight. Paramedics checked the victim, but the victim and her parents declined medical attention at this time. The case has been forwarded to the city attorney for review of possible charges.
The department responded to a report of a littering complaint on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11:26 a.m. in the ball fields at 20300 County Rd. 50. The reporting party stated there was a bunch of trash left at the ball fields and in the parking lot after the ball games the night before. The Officer arrived on scene to find beer cans, water bottles and other debris strewn about the ball fields and parking lot. The Officer documented the debris and the league organizer was notified of the issue.
The department responded to a report of a welfare check on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7:58 p.m. in the 97XX block of County Rd. 101. The reporting party stated there was a male that appeared drunk and carrying a beer can. Officers located the male and found him to be walking along County Rd. 101. A Hennepin County Deputy transported the male to a safe place.
The department responded to a report of a civil issue on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 5:03 p.m. in the 227XX block of Winchester Tr. The reporting party stated they have full custody of their 2 year old son, but has not seen him for more than a year. The Officer attempted to contact the reporting party; however the phone number given yielded a wrong number, so the Officer went to the residence and was unable to make contact with the reporting party. The reporting party contacted police again on Monday, Aug. 26. The reporting party told the Officer that they were awarded full custody of the child approximately a year ago in California. Since that time, a detective has been working on locating the child. The reporting party now feels that the detective really isn’t doing anything on the case, so he wanted to have a detective from Minnesota assigned to the case. The case will be forwarded to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office for investigation.
The department responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 5:49 p.m. in the area of County Rd. 10 and County Rd. 19. The reporting party called to complain that they were late for work this morning due to all the bicycles this morning. The Officer advised the reporting party that the Maple Grove Triathlon was going on in Maple Grove and Corcoran this morning. The reporting party stated their drive to work took an extra 40 minutes and that made the reporting party late for work. The reporting party wanted to know who was coordinating the event so they could pass the information on to their attorney. The reporting party also advised this should be posted in the paper so people are aware of it. The information regarding the Maple Grove Triathlon has been posted in the paper and in several locations on electronic portable signs.
The department responded to a report of a suspicious act on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 9:59 p.m. in the 72XX block of County Rd. 101. A Corcoran Reserve Officer advised there was a female urinating in the parking lot. Officers approached the group and found a couple of the people in the group had been drinking. Two of the parties were cited for underage consumption and the female was advised to use a restroom the next time.
