COUNTY AGRICULTURAL INSPECTOR
As per the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, Section 18.80, the Wright County Board of Commissioners is seeking to appoint an individual as Wright County Agricultural Inspector. The position is responsible for enforcement of the provisions of the state’s noxious weed laws, as well as rules promulgated by the Department of Agriculture regarding agricultural inspectors. The inspector will have contact with landowners regarding noxious weed issues. All functions of this position will be performed on an as needed basis, with hours varying seasonally.
This position will be filled and supervised by the Wright County Board of Commissioners, with compensation based on experience and qualifications. The agricultural inspector will be an independent contractor, responsible for providing his/her own vehicle, equipment and liability coverage. Wright County is seeking to enter into an annual contract, with compensation to be paid monthly.

The school board met in regular session on Monday, July 15, 2013. The following items may be of interest:
• The board approved the minutes from the June 17, 2013 regular meeting, staffing changes, bills totaling $1,266,323.48, open enrollments, and donations.
• The board heard reports from Superintendent Paul Durand and Business Manager Sandy Strozyk.
• The board approved the building student and staff handbooks and community education program handbooks.
• The board approved the health and safety expenditures and policy.
• Director of Buildings and Grounds Maureen Mullen presented a report on her department’s activities for the year.
• Technology Director John Engel presented a report on his department’s activities for the year as well as the district technology plan and updates.
• The board heard an update on the bond projects.
• Chair Botten made a statement regarding the superintendent’s evaluation process and the closed session held June 17.
• The board discussed a work session for reviewing the capacity space utilization study.
• The board approved a resolution to establish agreement for school recycling assistance program with Hennepin County.
• The board reviewed updates to selected policies. Approval is slated for the August 19 meeting.
• A letter from the Rockford Area Historical Society was reviewed.
• Heard reports from individual board members on their committee assignments.
• The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2013 at 6:30 PM in Rockford Middle School board room..
