DWIs

Corcoran Police reported a DWI arrest Sunday, Aug. 11 at 1:25 p.m. at 91XX County Rd. 101. Arrested was Thomas Michael Noy, 26, of Burnsville for 2nd Degree Gross Misd DWI with a .26 BAC.

Arrests

Corcoran Police reported a DAR arrest Friday, Aug. 9 at 10:38 p.m. at 78XX Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Carlos Chavez Holliday, 24, of Minneapolis for driving after revocation of his driver’s license.

Corcoran Police reported a felony property damage arrest Saturday, Aug. 10 at 4:16 p.m. at 200XX Darrell La. Arrested was Vaughn Slaten Thomason, 20, of Conway, AR for felony property damage.

Corcoran Police reported a possession arrest Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11:53 p.m. at County Rd. 101 and Stieg Rd. Arrested was Jarred Richard Wold, 24, of Maple Grove for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and for speeding.

Corcoran Police reported a warrant arrest Sunday, Aug. 11 at 11:21 p.m. at 78XX Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Erik Andrew Wollo, 48, of Corcoran for an outstanding Wright County Warrant for a probation violation of controlled substances.

Corcoran Police reported a warrant/possession arrest Sunday, Aug. 11 at 11:21 p.m. at 78XX Maple Hill Rd. Arrested was Sherrie Elizabeth Smetana, 40, of St. Cloud for an outstanding Wright County Warrant for theft and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Property damage

The department reported a property damage accident Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10:17 p.m. in the area of 78XX Maple Hill Rd. The driver of vehicle #1 had backed up and did not see vehicle #2 sitting in the street. The driver of vehicle #1 struck vehicle #2 and damaged the front headlight/bumper. The information was exchanged between the two parties. Since the accident occurred on private property, the two parties involved will handle it through their insurance companies.

Theft

Theft of funds was reported Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 11:46 a.m. in the 75XX block of County Rd. 116. The reporting party stated two men entered the bank and fraudulently cashed two checks for over $3,600.00. The case is under investigation at this time.

Theft of cell phone was reported Thursday, Aug. 8 at 7:41 a.m. in the 97XX block of County Rd. 101. The reporting party stated they were playing volleyball last night and set their Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone on the picnic table. They turned around and the phone was gone. The phone was disconnected through Sprint and reported as stolen. Total loss is $550.00. There are no identifiable suspects at this time.

Medicals

The department responded to a medical emergency Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 12:53 p.m. in the 197XX block of County Rd. 10. A female was having an asthma attack. The patient was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by North Ambulance.

The department responded to a medical emergency Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 9:02 p.m. in the 231XX block of Meadowview Dr. A 58 year old female was having chest and arm pains. The patient was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by North Ambulance.

Miscellaneous

The department responded to a report of suspicious activity on Monday, Aug. 5 at 10:40 a.m. in the 91XX block of County Rd. 19. The reporting party stated the construction trailer door was open and there was no vehicle around. Officers arrived on scene and found the door had blown open due to the wind. No issues found.

The department responded to a report of an unwanted person on Monday, Aug. 5 at 12:17 p.m. in the 236XX block of Strehler Rd. The reporting party stated their estranged husband had stopped by the mailbox at their property, which is a violation of a harassment order. The Officer spoke with the husband and he denied being at the mailbox. The Officer advised the husband about the consequences of violating the court order.

The department responded to a report of a civil matter on Monday, Aug. 5 at 1:50 p.m. in the 97XX block of Chisholm Tr. The reporting party stated he sold a boat to a guy 10 months ago for $5,400.00. Only $700.00 was agreed upon for the down payment and the rest of the amount was worked out per an agreement between the two parties. The other party has not paid yet. Officers advised this is a civil issue and the reporting party would have to go through the HCSO Civil Division.

The department responded to a report of a welfare check on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 9:10 a.m. in the 217XX block of County Rd. 10. The reporting party had found an approximately 2 year old boy walking on the private driveway with a puppy and no parents were around. The reporting party asked the little boy where he lived and he had pointed to a house nearby. The reporting party took the little boy back to the house. The reporting party called out into the house several times and no one answered. They then called police. The Officer arrived on scene and attempted to contact an adult in the home. The father finally came to the door. He was unaware that his son had left the house. The mother then came home and was advised on what had occurred. The report has been forwarded to Hennepin County Child Protection for a follow up.

The department responded to a report of harassing phone calls on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 12:39 p.m. in the 83XX block of County Rd. 19. The reporting party stated they received two calls to their home phone last night about approximately 11:00 p.m. and the voicemails stated that the caller wanted his paper back. The reporting party received a call on their cell phone at 12:20 p.m. and the caller stated he wanted his paper back. The reporting party asked the caller who it was and the caller stated it was their neighbor. When the reporting party asked if this was a specific neighbor, the call ended. The Officer attempted to contact the caller. The Officer left voicemails advising to stop making calls to the reporting party.

The department responded to a report of a juvenile issue on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 4:19 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting parties stated they were playing at the playground when they got into an argument. Both parties started hitting each other. The one juvenile stated he was hit by a tree branch. Neither of the 9 and 10 year old juveniles had marks or needed medical attention. The parties were separated and advised to not have contact with each other.

The department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 8:50 a.m. in the 75XX block of County Rd. 116. The reporting party stated there was a vehicle that had a person sleeping inside of it. They have been there about 20 minutes. Before the Officer could arrive on scene, the vehicle had left the area.

The department responded to a report of a welfare check on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 7:38 p.m. The reporting party stated there was a person walking west on County Rd. 10 and they felt the person should be checked on. Officers located the person and found that their motorcycle had broken down.

The department responded to a report of a burglary on Friday, Aug. 9 at 12:18 p.m. in the 106XX block of Robert La. The reporting party had left their residence at approximately 7:00 a.m. this date and returned home at 1:00 p.m. to find the front door to their house had been kicked open. The reporting party stated the only items that appeared to be missing were several containers of homemade alcohol and a cup of approximately $20 in coins had been moved to the basement. The case has been forwarded to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office for investigation.

The department responded to a report of a threat on Friday, Aug. 9 at 4:45 p.m. in the 97XX block of County Rd. 101. The reporting party stated they received a phone call from a blocked number stating that one of their employees had sold them some “bad cocaine” and they were going to collect their debt at 6:00 p.m. tonight. The reporting party wasn’t sure how to take the threat. The Officer advised they would provide extra patrol in the area throughout the night.

The department responded to a report of a civil matter on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 5:12 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated their mother was in a nursing home and her mother had given her permission to dispose of her rings and jewelry. The reporting party stated three rings have disappeared from the nursing home. The Officer advised the reporting party to report the stolen rings to the Hopkins Police Department since that is where the nursing home is located. It was agreed the rest of the rings will not be sold until this matter has been resolved with the Hopkins PD.

The department responded to a report of an assault on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11:06 p.m. in the 97XX block of County Rd. 101. The reporting party stated the suspect had assaulted them and fled the scene. Upon the Officer’s arrival, it was discovered that no assault had occurred. The suspect had poured beer on the reporting party and fled the scene. The Officer was unable to locate the suspect to trespass them per reporting party’s request.

The department responded to a report of a suspicious act on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3:22 a.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated there were a group of men that frightened some children that were sleeping outdoors in a tent. The children heard the men approach their tent and they yelled out. The men then left the scene in a dark colored minivan in an unknown direction. The Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the men. Officers advised the adults to call 911 if the men come by again and to have the children sleep indoors tonight.
