Reigning Rockford Ambassador Kaleigh Dwinell recently participated in the Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes competition in Minneapolis.

The Rockford River Days Ambassador Scholarship Program cheered on Rockford’s Kaleigh Dwinell as she participated in the Aquatennial “Queen of the Lakes” pageant. Although Dwinell was not named queen, she has represented the city of Rockford with pride and grace and is prepared to hand over this opportunity to a new ambassador at a coronation Sunday, Aug. 11, at Riverside Park.

Kaleigh is the daughter of Pam and Steve Dwinell of Rockford, and is a 2013 Rockford High School graduate who participated in soccer and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and plans to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.

The Rockford Ambassador program names two ambassadors each year to represent the city, and one to participate in the Aquatennial pageant. Scholarships are awarded to each ambassador.
