Rockford 9U takes 2nd in Winona

Rock9UOne week after taking second place at the Crow River League baseball tournament, the Rockford Area Athletic Association 9U team headed to Winona to take part in the Wayne Kramer Memorial tournament. Last year this same group finished fourth out of 12 teams. This year the 9U Rockets finished second, going 3-1 in pool play and upsetting No. 1 seed Rochester in the semifinals. Rockford lost the championship game 5-1 to Shelby, Wisconsin. The 9U Rockets finished the season at 20-5. Rockford’s 9U baseball team claimed second place at the recent Winona tournament.
