Jonas Beugen joins Osseo Area Schools as the new principal for Osseo Area Learning Center, located in Brooklyn Park.
“Jonas brings excellent leadership experience and many years of classroom teaching experience to the district,” said Teri Staloch, assistant superintendent of leadership, teaching and learning at Osseo Area Schools. “He has a passion for advancing student learning and partnering with others to provide students opportunities to succeed.”
Prior to joining Osseo Area Schools, was the principal at Northeast Metro School District for seven years. His teaching experience includes teacher on special assignment at the Robbinsdale School District and over ten years of classroom teaching in social studies.
Beugen has a bachelor’s degree in social sciences education from North Dakota State University, a master’s degree in education from Hamline University and is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership from St. Mary’s University, Minnesota. Additionally, he completed his administrative licensure at Saint Mary’s University.
The Osseo Area Learning Center provides an alternative for students who wish to graduate outside of the traditional high school setting. During the regular academic year, the school serves students in grades nine to 12; after-school, summer credit recovery and test prep classes are also available.
