The sixth annual Taste of Delano Wednesday, Aug. 7, will enable visitors to try out samples of signature foods from a dozen Delano area restaurants. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Delano Central Park.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount through Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Delano Area Chamber of Commerce, Crow River Bank, State Bank of Delano, Coborn’s, Delano City Hall and Chevrolet of Delano & Star West Motorsports. Advance tickets cost $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Tickets the day of the event will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. After purchasing a ticket, a Taste visitor can munch without additional charge inside the park.
Planners of Taste of Delano are encouraging visitors to purchase tickets in advance to help participating restaurants plan how much food to bring.
Taste of Delano is billed as a place to try “Food from around the World.” Entrees will range from pizza to Chinese cuisine to American submarine sandwiches and other types of edibles in between. Featured desserts will include ice cream dishes and chocolate.
While adults are chowing down and chatting, children will find activities such as a moon walk, face painting and petting zoo. Elvis will croon and Chopper “The World’s Nuttiest DJ” will air musical selections.
