Arrests and Citations
On Tuesday, July 9, at County Rd. 101 and Highway 55, Christopher Rickard Vanantwerp, 24, of Rockford was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .09.
On Thursday, July 11, at 11:02 p.m. at Hamel Rd. and Highway 55, David Scott Mcquiston, of Plymouth, was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .14.
On Saturday, July 13, at 2:11 a.m. on the 3100 block of Hunter Dr., officer located a vehicle in the city park parking lot after hours. A female juvenile, 17, of Medina provided false date of birth to the officer and was cited. Both occupants were advised of the city ordinance regarding parks.
On Saturday, July 13, at 9:57 pm. On the 00 block of Hamel Rd., Patrick Kevin Hayes, 52, of Plymouth was arrested for DWI Second Degree.
On Saturday, July 13, at 11:20 p.m. on the 00 block of Hamel Rd., Kevin Timothy Knight, 22, of Mound was in a fight at the rodeo dance at Inn Kahoots, and was arrested. One person was taken to the hospital.
On Sunday, July 14, at 2:32 a.m. at County Rd. 101 and Prairie Creek Rd., Richard Lee Giles, 59, of Corcoran was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .15 Pursuit ended with driver crashing into a tree and also a residence in Maple Grove.
On Thursday, July 11, at 7:32 a.m. on the 00 block of Medina St., Loretto, it was reported that someone had stolen a 12-foot section of aluminum pipe.
On Friday, July 12, at 2:20 p.m. on the 1300 block of Baker Park Rd., there was a gas drive-off of $43.05.
On Sunday, July 14, at 9:31 a.m. on the 500 block of Highway 55, a vendor reported a theft of jewelry.
On Sunday, July 14, at 12:40 p.m. on the 500 block of Highway 55, there was a gas drive-off of $58.34.
On Monday, July 8, at 10:14 a.m. on the 100 block of Hamel Rd., the Farmers State Bank of Hamel reported that it received $20 counterfeit bills in a bank deposit. The bills were forwarded onto the Unites States Secret Service.
On Thursday, July 11, at 12:20 p.m. at Pioneer Tr. and Willow Dr., it was reported that two dogs continually chased a resident riding a bike.
On Thursday, July 11, at 1:31 p.m. on the 200 block of Medina Rd., Loretto, a yellow Labrador with no collar or identification tags was impounded; the owner could not be located.
On Friday, July 12, at 12:44 a.m. on the 100 block of Cassia Ct., there was a complaint of loud music at Inn Kahoots. Staff told officer the band would we shutting down at 1 a.m.
On Saturday, July 13, at 10:52 a.m. on the 2100 block of Chestnut Rd., a resident reported missing pets, four geese, three ducks and one cat.
On Saturday, July 13, at 3:07 p.m. at County Rd. 101 and Highway 55, a party reported a suspicious vehicle with windows and taillights painted black. Officer checked the area but did not locate the vehicle.
On Saturday, July 13, at 7:37 p.m. on the 2400 block of Holy Name Dr., a resident reported an injured bird on her property. Officer took the bird and released it.
On Saturday, July 13, at 10:38 p.m. on the 300 block of Sunnyridge Lane, Loretto, officers were dispatched to a report of a possible burglary in progress in the lower level unit of a duplex. All windows of the lower unit were found to be secure with no sings of having recently been opened.
On Sunday, July 14, at 4:17 a.m. on the 00 block of Hamel Rd., there was a report of an assault with one party being pushed to the ground. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.
On Sunday, July 14, at 8:10 p.m. at Highway 55 and Pinto Dr., a party called to report that she had located a snapping turtle on the highway and picked it up and put it in her vehicle. After transporting it to a swampy area along the highway, she was unable to get the turtle out of her vehicle. Officer arrives and assisted her in removing the turtle, which she carried down to the water and released.
