Hennepin County Sheriff’s Report

The following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from July 22 through July 28, 2013 do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.

In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.

Rockford 

On July 26, deputies responded to a business on the 7600 block of County Road 50 for a theft report. The reporting party reports a set of forks from his business’ bobcat was stolen from the parking lot. The equipment valued at approximately $2,000. No suspects at this time. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

On July 27, deputies responded to a business on the 8000 block of Hwy. 55 for a civil dispute report. The reporting party reported he is the previous owner of the business and left behind equipment. He was at the business to pick up the equipment but the new owner refused. Both parties had legal paperwork. After investigating, it was determined bother parties contact civil court.

Corcoran 

On July 25, deputies responded to an address on the 7800 block of Maple Hill Road to assist Corcoran Police with a fatal personal injury accident. Deputy assisted with scene security and escorted one of the drivers in the ambulance to Maple Grove Hospital.

Greenfield 

On July 22, deputies responded to an address on the 8000 block of Cedar Street for a domestic report. Deputies made contact with parties involved and learned the male party pushed the female’s arm when he went past her. Deputies separated the two for the night.

On July 23, deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a gas drive off report. An employee reported the driver of a blue Toyota put $66.38 worth of gas in the vehicle and did not pay for it. Deputies attempted to make contact with the registered owner but were unable to. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

On July 23, deputies responded to the area of Hwy. 55 and 69th Avenue N. for a property damage accident report. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the reporting party who reported the suspect vehicle sideswiped his vehicle and left the scene giving minimal information. The deputy attempted to make contact with the suspect but was unable to. A State Accident report was completed. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

On July 24 ,deputies responded to an address on the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a gas drive off report. An employee reported the driver of a silver Chrysler attempted to use his credit card to pay for the gas but an error occurred and the payment did not go through. The driver pumped $43.48 worth of gas and drove off. The information was passed on to a middle shift deputy who will attempt to make contact with the registered owner. No other action at this time.

On July 25, deputies responded to a business on the 7300 block of Cabinet Drive for a damage to property report. An employee reported damage to a service door. Nothing was reported stolen, estimated amount of damage is $1000. This incident was forwarded to a Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective to follow up, if necessary.

On July 28, deputies responded to a business on the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a gas drive off report. An employee reported the driver of a silver Ford put $20 worth of gas into the vehicle and did not pay for it. Deputy did not make contact with suspect. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

Other

During the week of July 22 to July 28, 2013, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies also issued or provided: five citations, one written/verbal warning and one property damage accident.
