Arrests

On Thursday, July 4, a 1:08 a.m. at Hamel Rd. and Sioux Dr., a driver was issued a citation for a stop sign violation. Passengers in the vehicle, Emily Anne Mchugh, 19, of Hamel and Amanda Lee Corken, 19, of Medina were cited for Minor Consumption.

On Thursday, July 4, at 7:59 p.m. at County Rd. 116 and Highway 55, a driver was cited for open bottle and seatbelt violations. Maxwell Peter Wilson, 20, a passenger in the vehicle, was cited for Underage Consumption.

On Friday, July 5, at Highway 55 and Rolling Hills Rd., Dylan Riley Wutschke, 27, of Delano, was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .08.

On Monday, July 1, at 12:43 a.m. on the 1400 block of Baker Rd., an officer stopped a suspicious vehicle and searched it. Drugs and paraphernalia were found and the case was referred to the city attorney.

Theft

On Monday, July 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Trillium Ln. N and Blue Bell Tr., a couple of mothers took their children out for a walk. The children became tired and their tricycles were left at a vacant lot. When the parents returned for them, they were gone.

On Tuesday, July 2, at 1:56 a.m. on the 1300 block of Baker Park Rd., there was a gas drive-off of $65.71 with an unknown vehicle.

On Saturday, July 6, at 7:53 p.m. on the 200 block of Cherry Tr., there was a report of a stolen iPhone 5.

Other

On Monday, July 1, at 7:37 a.m. on the 4600 block of Fern St., an officer was requested to check the welfare of a resident since the caller was unable to reach her. Upon arrival, officer was able to locate the resident who was outside talking to a neighbor. She was advised to call the reporting party.

On Monday, July 1, at 3:36 p.m. at Highway 55 and Pinto Dr., officer responded to a report of a large turtle in the road. When officer arrived, the turtle had been run over.

On Tuesday, July 2, at 11:38 p.m. on the 800 block of Highway 55, McDonalds, it was reported that a group of teenagers were hanging around. Upon officer arrival, they were gone.

On Friday, July 5, at 11:41 a.m. on the 300 block of Clydesdale Tr., an officer responded to a complaint about a dog in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officer spotted a boy walking a dog in the parking lot. He went to a vehicle and a woman did, as well. She told the officer that she went into the store to pick up some items and left the boy and the dog in the car with the windows down. The boy got hot and took the dog out.

On Saturday, July 6, at 2:29 a.m. at County Rd. 24 and County Rd. 19, officers observed a black cargo carrier on the west side of County Rd. 19. It was empty except for hardware. It will be kept at the police department to be claimed.

On Saturday, July 6, at 2:34 p.m. on the 3500 block of Kilkenny Lane there was a report of a damaged mailbox.

On Saturday, July 6, at 3:54 p.m. on the 100 block of Medina St., Loretto, there was an anonymous call about a possible underage drinking party. Officer arrived and located approximately 10 adults in the back lot grilling and enjoying adult beverages. No one was underage.

On Sunday, July 7, at 1:42 a.m. on the 4300 block of Highway 55, an officer observed a vehicle parked in the lot at Koch’s Korner. The vehicle contained a family of three. The parents did not speak English, so the daughter translated. Officer assisted in ordering a tow for the vehicle.
