Run with a Purpose

JULY 27 — Headwaters Relief Organization, a collaboration of volunteers providing emotional support and housing rehabilitation for families and communities ravaged by disaster, will host its annual Run with a Purpose 5K Run/Walk event Saturday, July 27, at Elm Creek Park Reserve, 12400 James Deane Parkway in Maple Grove. Walk-up registration will be from 7:30 to 8 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.The race start, finish and parking are all located at the Chipmunk Shelter at the end of the park road, approximately 3 miles from the park entrance. Funds raised may help feed children at an orphanage in Haiti, provide mental health services to survivors of Hurricane Sandy, and support relief efforts to Minnesotans and others in the U.S. after flooding, tornadoes, and other disasters. Registration for the event is available at headwatersrelief.org under news and the morning of the event.

Imara International Charity Golf Tournament Set for July 29

Charity golf tournament

Sports medicine coaches conferences

JULY 29 — Twin Cities Orthopedics will be hosting a free sport medicine conference for parents, coaches and athletic trainers that will cover the most up-to-date issues surrounding athletes and sports participation. AUG. 11 — The first annual Osseo-Maple Grove Legion Post #172 will host a Golf Fundraiser Sunday, Aug. 11, at Sundance Golf and Bowl, 15240 113th Ave. N. in Dayton.
