Hamel Lions Flea Market

SUNDAYS THROUGH OCT. 27 — The Hamel Lions Flea Market will be open on Sundays through Oct. 27 in the parking lot of the Medina Entertainment Center, 500 Hwy. 55, Medina. Bargain hunters can visit the market from 6 a.m. to noon. The Flea Market will be closed on May 12 and 19 and Aug. 11. Vendors will offer antiques, collectables, bargains, crafts, produce, plants, fall farmers market, and one of a kinds. Admission and parking are free. Vendor space costs $20 per spot. Delano Farmers Market

WEDNESDAYS THROUGH OCT. — The Delano Farmers Market is open Wednesdays through October from 2 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Flippin’ Bills’, located on the corner of Highway 12 and County Line Road in Delano. Shoppers will find freshly baked bread, local honey, maple syrup, pickles, farm fresh eggs, seasonal fruits and more when in season. A non-profit booth is available. Delano Community Market

THROUGH SEPT. 21 — The Delano Community Market is open 9 a.m. to noon, every Saturday from May 18 to Sept. 21 along River Street in downtown Delano. Visitors will find local food, artists, crafts, children’s activities, music and more. Anyone who is a gardener, farmer, painter, sculptor, jewelry maker, crafter, or community organization is invited to apply for a booth. Helping Hands Food Shelf

JULY 25 — Delano Helping Hands Food Shelf will be open Thursday, July 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the basement of the Delano Community Education Building, 140 Elm Ave. in Delano. Delano Helping Hands is a community-based, non-profit organization that provides emergency food and services to individuals and families in need. Wow Van visit

JULY 25 — The Wright County Wellness on Wheels (WOW) van will stop at BankWest in Rockford from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25. WOW services include adult and child immunizations; health screening; blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol checks by appointment; pregnancy, health and wellness checks and child car seat checks by appointment. Movie in the Park

JULY 26 — On Friday, July 26, at dusk (about 9:15 p.m.) at Riverside Park the Movie “Brave” will play. This is a family friendly free event. There will be concessions to benefit Dollars for Scholars. The back-up location in case of bad weather is the Rockford Fire Station. Bring a chair or blanket and bug spray.

Delano Relay for Life

JULY 26 TO 27 — Delano Relay for Life will begin its night-long schedule of events at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Delano Central Park. Opening ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. on the main baseball field, with cancer survivors taking the first lap of the Relay after the ceremonies. The luminaria lighting ceremony will begin at 9:30 p.m. The public is invited to participate in activities and enjoy entertainment. Proceeds will go towards American Cancer Society efforts to fight cancer and assist cancer victims and families.

Polo match

JULY 27 — Proceeds from a Saturday, July 27, polo match will benefit Peace Lutheran Church and the Smile Factory of Love in the Name of Christ-Heartland (Love INC). Gates will open at 11 a.m. at BlackBerg Ranch, 1980 Sally Ave., Watertown. Events will include family activities from noon to 3 p.m., the game at 1 p.m., ladies hat contest, silent auction and raffle. Food will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission will cost $10 for adults, $5 for children and $30 maximum per family.

Little Bita Everything Animal Ranch  

JULY 30 — Quistorff’s Little Bita Everything Animal Ranch will visit the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30. People of all ages are invited to enjoy an educational wild life presentation featuring more than 20 different types of exotic animals from around the world. The program is funded in part by the Delano Loretto United Way and the Delano Friends of the Library.

It’s Just Coffee

JULY 30 — Come meet your Greenfield neighbors, share a cup of coffee and talk. Bring a friend and join in the fun.  It’s Just Coffee meets the last Tuesday of every month from 9 to 11 a.m. at Riverwood Covenant Church (7189 69th Ave. N). Your memories of Greenfield history are always welcome as this is also the home of The Greenfield Historical Society. Coffee and treats are provided.

Delano Concert in the Park

JULY 31 — The Delano Concert in the Park series will bring treVeld to the gazebo at Delano Central Park at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31. treVeld blends instrumental song and sound with original works inspired by folk music of America, Europe and beyond. Audience members are invited to bring food, lawn chairs and blankets to the park for the free concert, sponsored by Delano Community Education and the General Federated Women’s Club of Delano. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Delano Middle School Auditorium.

Battle of the Books 

AUG. 1 — Children ages eight to 12 are invited to join the Battle of the Books at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. Participants have to read six library books for this fast-paced competition that includes prizes and treats. Pick up the list of titles and register at the library. Attendance limit is 12.

Indoor/Outdoor Rockford Occasional Sales

AUG. 1 & 3 — The first Thursday and Saturday of the month (through Oct. 5) a cooperative of vendors will be selling handcrafted items, antiques, plants and more from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rockford Mall (west end of Rockford on the north side of Highway 55), rain or shine. 60 Plus and Healthy Clinics

AUG. 6 — Wright County Public Health will offer a 60 Plus and Healthy Clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Rockford Walnut Place Apartments, 8830 Walnut Place, Rockford. Public Health staff will trim toenails for seniors who have a health condition such as diabetes or are unable to trim toenails themselves. Staff will check blood pressures if needed and as time allows. Cost for foot care services is $15. Those who are unable to pay will not be turned away from the clinic.
