Kids Fun Run

JULY 19 — FYCC, HealthSource and Coborns will be sponsoring a Kids Fun Run Friday, July 19, at Albertville Central Park. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., race start time is 10 a.m.  There will be three races based on age. Half K race for 4-6 year olds, 1K for 5-8 year olds, and 2K for 8 years old and up. Cost is $5 for early registration or $10 day of event. Call FYCC for more information on any of the events at 416-7912.

JULY 23 — Rogers City Council will meet Tuesday, July 23, at 7 p.m. at the Rogers Community Room at 21201 Memorial Dr.

JULY 23 — St. Michael City Council will meet Tuesday, July 23, at 7 p.m. at the City Center, 11800 Town Center Dr.

Summer library camp

JULY 22-23 — The St. Michael Public Library is offering a Summer Reading Program Library Camp Monday and Tuesday, July 22 and 23. Two sessions are offered each day. The morning session, 10:30 a.m. to noon, will be for children ages 5-7; the afternoon session, 1 to 2:30 p.m., is for children from 8-11. Both sessions have similar content based on the Summer Reading Program theme, Dig Into Reading. Children will make a worm motel, take a hike and learn about underground animals. The afternoon session will be more in depth and have more difficult activities to engage the older children. JULY 25 — Corcoran City Council will meet will next meet Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m. at city hall at 8200 County Rd. 116.

Words That Attract

JULY 26 — The St. Michael Public Library is offering a program for ages 11 to 18 called Words That Attract Friday, July 26, 1 to 3 p.m. Teens will work with an artist to create magnetic poetry word strips that adhere to any steel surface, then design and decorate a box to contain the strips, creating a magnetic poetry kit. The attendance limit is 20 and preregistration is required. This program is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Family bingo

JULY 31 — Family Bingo will be Wednesday, July 31, 6:30-7:30 p.m. This event will be hosted by the St. Michael Fire Department and will include fun fire safety tips for the family.  Register for the Kids Fun Run and Family Bingo at WWW.FYCCONLINE.COM. Word of Peace Corn Feed

AUG. 8 — The third annual Word of Peace Lutheran Church Community Corn Feed is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Events take place from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring live music, games for kids and a free will offering. The band playing is called Four plus One; hamburgers and hot dogs will be served in addition to all the corn you can eat; free will suggested offering is $10/individual and $25/family; and games including a bouncy house for kids. There will be a raffle for four prizes: a 50-inch TV, auto detailing package, $250 cash prize and $100 cash prize.

Burschville Summerfest

AUG. 18 — Summerfest, held at the Burschville School located in Corcoran on County Rd. 10 Sunday, Aug. 18, from noon to 4:30 p.m. There will be old-fashioned music, “Those Pork Chops” food wagon, face painting by Naomi, school tours, kids games, door prizes and raffles. St. Thomas parish festival

AUG. 18 — The St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church parish festival/turkey dinner is Sunday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 200 County Rd. 10.
