The annual North Star League All-Star Game took place July 3 at Maple Lake’s Irish Stadium and the West All-Stars clipped the East 7-6.

Nine players from St. Michael, Albertville and Rogers made up the east squad. The North-leading Saints (4-1 North, 11-5 overall) were represented by pitcher Alan Frank, outfielder Roman Collins and infielder Alex Naasz.

Frank went into the break leading the Saints with a 3-0 record and a team-low 2.43 ERA. Collins has had a solid season offensively leading the team with a .392 average, one home run, 18 RBI’s, 13 runs scored and 20 hits. Naasz is batting .351 with 20 hits, eight doubles and one home run.

The Villains (1-3 North, 5-9 overall) were represented by pitcher Drew Bebus, infielder Jesse Berg and outfielder Jake Saari.

Bebus leads the Villains with three wins, 24 strikeouts and is second on the team with a 2.25 ERA. Saari leads with a .486 average and four doubles and Berg is hitting .385 with 13 runs scored.

Both Saari and Berg collected RBI singles in a losing effort for the East All-Stars.

Rogers (1-4 North, 1-9 overall) has struggled this season, but due to the league’s all-star policies of having every team represented equally, the Red Devils sent pitcher Aaron Cook, infielder Jack Keisner and outfielder Andrew Wilmot to the all-star contest.

Rogers’ lone win came in a 10-1 victory on June 26 at Albertville.
