Last August, Maple Grove began the process to become a nationally recognized Yellow Ribbon Community. A Yellow Ribbon City’s purpose is to unite all areas within a community to create a comprehensive network that connects and coordinates resources for the purpose of proactively supporting Servicemembers, Veterans and military families.
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon cities are required to complete a sustainable action plan, which is then submitted to the Minnesota National Guard and Governor Dayton for final approval and issuance of an official proclamation.
An official proclamation of Maple Grove becoming a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community will take place during a celebration Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at the Maple Grove Town Green.
More than 50 community members and leaders contributed to the success of the action plan and Maple Grove’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community proclamation. The Maple Grove Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network invite the public to attend this event for the community and share in the celebration.
To celebrate the proclamation, Rocket Club will be performing live at the proclamation ceremony.
