Maple Grove Days rocks with entertainment

Maple Grove Days offers many exciting and entertaining opportunities throughout the week (Wednesday, July 10 through Saturday, July 13) so get up and get over to check out some very talented performers at two locations: Town Green, 7991 Main Street and the main stage at the Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road. There will be lots of local Maple Grove entertainment performing. Check out the following line up.

 

TOWN GREEN LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

Maple Grove Town Green is not only the perfect place to listen to entertainment from under the winged-roof band shell that overlooks a tiered seating area, it also hosts an inviting landscape of relaxing walking paths, garden area, an arbor structure of seating on the peninsula looking out over the lake and refreshments available at the concession stand.  A full lineup of entertainment is offered throughout the week.

Wednesday, July 10 — 7 p.m. “Rocket Club” will perform their outstanding Up North country music. Including a special presentation from state and local dignitaries as they present the official Proclamation to the Maple Grove Beyond The Yellow Ribbon Steering committee and special announcement for the 25th Anniversary of MGCO presentation of community events.

Thursday, July 11 — 11 a.m. the “Schiffelly’s Puppets” will bring the stage to life with their silliness and life lessons.

Friday, July 12 — 8 p.m. the “Splatter Sisters,” three energetic multi-talented musicians and singers perform. Followed by the outdoor children’s movie the Lorax at sunset.

Saturday, July 13 —  8:30 to 9:30 a.m. a  Zumba Workout. Come ready for a workout in tennis shoes. Susan Gahan, Instructor. Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel.

10 to 10:40 a.m. is Corepower Yoga. Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel.

10:50 to 11:10 a.m. “World Taekwondo Academy” gives a demonstration. Established in 1969 by Grandmaster Byung Yul Lee, one of the highest ranking instructors in the world.

11:20 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “Dancin’ On Broadway” will have dancers performing range in age from 3 to 18.

Noon to 12:40 p.m. Boot Camp Workout. Boot Camp is a challenging, fast-paced cardio and resistance-training program. Kelly Tamm, Certified Personal Trainer. Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel.

1 to 1:30 p.m. “Bunce Backyard Productions Theater” event. This troupe tells entertaining stories of struggle and transformation.

1 to 3 p.m. “Single Circles Square Dance Club” event.

1:50 to 2:20 p.m. is the Duct Tape Fashion Show.

2:40 to 3 p.m. Winner of the Teen Battle of the Bands performs.

3:20 to 4:05 p.m. “Sals Sisters” perform. This all girl band, consists of four sisters ranging in ages from 12 to 18.

4 to 5 p.m. is Corepower Yoga. Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel.

4:25 to 5:25 p.m. “Whosah” performs. This group’s style is Pop Rock/ Alternative/ Electronica.

5:45 to 6:30 p.m. “Fam Jam” event. Don’t miss this high-energy production combining music, comedy, drama, multi-media and more to model positive core values.

7 to 8 p.m. “Festival Community Orchestra” performs.

8:30 to 10 p.m. “Arts Council Maple Grove Jazz Ensemble” event. Twenty, multi-talented and dedicated musicians specialize in the performance of Big Band Jazz.

 

MAIN STAGE

The Main Stage located at the Maple Grove Community Center, hosts a full day of free live entertainment from children’s to country and rock Saturday, July 13. Use this guide to help plan the day.

10:30 to 11:15 a.m. — “AlphaBits” performs. This duo puts together an interactive show perfect for children 3 to 8. Their lively concert is full of classic kids songs and original songs.

11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. — “David Olson” event. A featured balloon artist brings his balloon creations to life with a twist and a turn.

11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — “AlphaBits” second performance.

1:30 to 3:30 p.m. — “Jana Anderson” performs country/rock and classic rock. She grew up in Maple Grove and is a graduate of Osseo High School.

4:15 to 6:15 p.m. — “DiamondBack” event. The band plays a wide variety of music people of all ages can enjoy.

7 to 10 p.m. — “Pop ROCKS” performs. This is not just a band, they are a high energy live music show that plays the biggest dance party hits.
