As part of their respective youth summer service programs, both Lord of Life Church of Maple Grove and Christ Church of Otsego have been sending teams of volunteers to CROSS Food Shelf to lend a helping hand during the summer months. The groups consist of local middle school and high school students who would like to reach out in the community even when school is not in session.

During the summer, resources tend to be tight and volunteers can be hard to come by. Fortunately, these local youths have a unique sense of community pride that drives them to do their part all year round.

CROSS Food Shelf provides food, clothing, seasonal children’s programs, limited financial assistance and Meals on Wheels to families living in the communities of Maple Grove, Osseo, west Champlin, Rogers, Dayton and Corcoran.

CROSS has been operating for nearly four decades. Over 600 families each month benefit from services provided by CROSS, which is supported by volunteers and community donations from businesses, churches, schools, and other organizations.
