JULY 8 — The North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce’s 31st Annual Golf Tournament will take place Monday, July 8, at the TPC- Twin Cities Golf Course, 11444 Tournament Players Parkway in Blaine. Each week a project will be planned for youth to enjoy. Each project costs $1.75 and take 15 to 30 minutes to complete. All necessary materials will be provided unless otherwise  noted.  The July 8 project is making a sports magnet clip bar.

JULY 9— Champlin Parks and Recreation will offer free family-friendly performances in the park Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. at Andrews Park, Champlin. July 9 features master yo-yo artist Dazzling Dave.

JULY 9 — Camp Arbor is a free, fun and educational weekly morning camp for children ages 3-10 at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes’ central courtyard Arbor Park. Events take place between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. and features: interactive, educational activity for children; complimentary face painting and snacks and special offers from participating stores and restaurants. A Beach Party presented by Kidsdance will be Tuesday, July 9. Schedule is tentative and subject to change. Activities are offered while supplies last. JULY 10 – SEPT. 25 — The Champlin Farmers Market will be open Wednesdays from July 10 through Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 10 kicks off with free water bottle day. Summer Bar Olympics

JULY 12 — Fritzy’s 6th Annual Summer Bar Olympics will feature darts, bean bag toss, bowling, rodeo golf, putting challenge and tippy cups. Put together a six-person team to compete for cash prizes. The Olympics run from 5 p.m. to midnight. Located at Sundance Golf & Bowl, 15340 113th Ave. N., Dayton.

Table Tennis Clinic

JULY 14 TO 18 — The Northwest Table Tennis Club in Maple Grove is having a Table Tennis Clinic for 10 youth aged 8 to 12. This clinic will be July 14 through the 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Instructors will be members of the Northwest Table Tennis Club and all participants will be provided with their own paddle. This clinic will be a part of Grove Christian Center’s Mega Sports Camp which will include pickleball, cheerleading, soccer, basketball and table tennis. There is a minimal charge of $5 for each participant for the five sessions.Grove Christian Center is located at 14320 93rd Ave. N. Get Your Cape On

JULY 18 — Bring super hero attitude and purchase a cape at Summer Faire at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove where crowds will gather Thursday, July 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. to set a World Record for the most “Super Heroes” gathered in one place. Proceeds from the event will benefit The 30 Days Foundation, created by Mick Sterling who will also be on hand to perform from 6 to 8 p.m. during the event at Summer Faire, The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes Thursday night Summer Concert Series now in its ninth year.

The cost for most activities range from a quarter to $2.

Osseo Cross Country Alumni meet

AUG. 17 — Osseo High School will host its 50th Osseo Alumni Cross Country Meet Saturday, Aug. 17, at 9:30 a.m. at the Elm Creek Park Reserve near the playground. Girl’s race will run first, followed by the boys race. The distance is 2.5 miles or less. All Osseo Alumni CC runners, family members and friends are welcome to run the race or watch, cheer and visit with past team members. There will be displays of Osseo Cross Country history. Race Awards and 2012-13 Coach’s Scholarship drawing to follow the run. There will be refreshments after the race. The Alumni CC Social will be at the Osseo Legion at 6 p.m. Open to all Osseo Alumni CC runners and partners. There will be a toast to Osseo CC program and Coaches Mr. Jim Deane and Mr. Ken Rasmussen and all the other coaches. A special presentation by Alumni  Kevin Kling.

Party in the Park
