Day Craft

JUNE 20 — Children of all ages are invited to visit the St. Michael Public Library to do a Thursday Fun Day make and take craft during open hours 1 to 8 p.m. June 20. The craft is making a unique underground critter with a clothespin, glue and poms. For additional information, contact the St. Michael library at 763-497-1998.

Michaela Olson benefit

JUNE 22 — Michaela Olson died suddenly July 1, 2012 due to Histoplasmosis. In her honor, family and friends are putting on a non-profit fund-raiser Saturday, June 22, to raise community awareness regarding this silent and sometimes deadly fungus. Proceeds will sponsor youth mission trips for families that otherwise couldn’t afford to let their children participate. Through this fundraiser organizers hope to reach out to as many people in the community as possible. A motorcycle ride will begin June 22 at noon at Zylstra Harley Davidson in Elk River and will end at the Liberty Restaurant in St. Michael where they’re sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Several raffle items, including a trip to Cancun, are also a part of the day. Movie in the Park

JUNE 22 — The Hanover Park Board will be sponsoring a Movie in the Park Saturday, June 22, at 8:30 p.m. at Settler’s Park (by City Hall). “Madagascar 3.” Bring chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available.

JUNE 25 — Rogers City Council will meet Tuesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at the Rogers Community Room at 21201 Memorial Dr.

St. Michael council

JUNE 25 — St. Michael City Council will meet Tuesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at the City Center, 11800 Town Center Dr.

Corcoran council

JUNE 26 — Corcoran City Council will meet will next meet Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m. at city hall at 8200 County Rd. 116.

Albertville council

JULY 1— Albertville City Council meets Monday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at city hall, 5959 Main Ave.

Hanover council

JULY 2 — Hanover City Council meets Tuesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. at city hall on 11250 Fifth St.

Circus in St. Michael

JULY 2 — The Carson and Barnes Circus will be in St. Michael for two shows Tuesday, July 2. This is an old fashion circus under the BIG TOP. The circus will be located in the lot between St. Michael City Hall and Allina Clinic in St. Michael. Advance tickets are being sold now at St. Michael City Hall or see Sandy or Peggy out in the parks.  Families and Youth Community Connections (FYCC) will receive a portion of the advance ticket sale proceeds. Show times are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. There will be camel and elephant rides prior to the show and at 2:30, visitors can come and see the St. Michael Fire Department give the elephants a bath. Advance tickets prices are $12 per adult with a FREE child ticket included and additional children’s tickets are $6. Call FYCC for more information on any of the events at 416-7912.

JULY 15 — St. Michael-Albertville School Board meets Monday, July 15, at 7 p.m. at the high school board meeting room, 11343 50th St.

Kids Fun Run

JULY 19 — FYCC, HealthSource and Coborns will be sponsoring a Kids Fun Run Friday, July 19, at Albertville Central Park. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., race start time is 10 a.m.  There will be three races based on age. Half K race for 4-6 year olds, 1K for 5-8 year olds, and 2K for 8 years old and up. Family bingo

JULY 31 — Family Bingo will be Wednesday, July 31, 6:30-7:30 p.m. This event will be hosted by the St. Michael Fire Department and will include fun fire safety tips for the family.  Register for the Kids Fun Run and Family Bingo at WWW.FYCCONLINE.COM. Word of Peace Corn Feed

AUG. 8 — The third annual Word of Peace Lutheran Church Community Corn Feed is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Events take place from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring live music, games for kids and a free will offering.
