Delano 4th of July events schedule

The annual Delano 4th of July celebration will run from Wednesday, July 3 through Saturday, July 6, with fireworks ending events at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Here is a schedule of events:

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3

• American Legion Baseball Tournament begins 11 a.m.

• Food booths open at 5 p.m.

• Bingo stand opens at 5 p.m.

• GoldStar Carnival opens at 5 p.m.

- Wrist Band Night, 5 to 10 p.m. ($25 for unlimited carnival rides)

• Alex the Juggler, on second stage, 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. shows.

• Softball tournaments begin 6 p.m.

• Delano Royalty Coronation at Delano Middle School Auditorium, 7 p.m.

• Shaw Brothers Band, 8 p.m. to midnight, rain or shine in entertainment tent.

 

THURSDAY, JULY 4

• All roads to parade route close at 9 a.m.

• 5K run begins at 9:30 a.m. along parade route.

• 4th of July Parade begins at 10:30 a.m.

• Grandstand food booth open at 8 a.m.

• All other food booths open at noon

• GoldStar Carnival opens at noon

- Wrist Bands noon to 5 p.m. ($25 for unlimited carnival rides)

• Bingo Stand opens at noon

• Paul Christian performs 5 to 8 p.m., family entertainment stage

• Smith and Western perform, 2 to 5 p.m., rain or shine, entertainment tent

• Softball tournaments continue, 12:30 to 10 p.m.

• American Legion Baseball Tournament continues, 3 p.m.

• Brian Leighton performs 8 p.m. to midnight, rain or shine, entertainment tent

 

FRIDAY, JULY 5

• GoldStar Carnival, opens at noon

• Food booths open at noon

• American Legion Baseball Tournament continues at main diamond, noon

• Bingo stand opens at noon

• Alex the Juggler, 3 and 4:30 p.m. shows on second stage

• David Farr, Magician, 5:30 and 7 p.m. shows on second stage.

• Brat Pack Radio performs 8 p.m. to midnight, rain or shine, entertainment tent.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 6

• Kiddie Parade at Gazebo in Central Park near Big Rock Playground, 11 a.m. Registration 10:30 a.m.

• Firemen Water Ball Tournament on Third Street begins at 10 a.m.

• Bean Bag Tournament in entertainment tent, registration 9:30 a.m., games begin 10 a.m.

• Food Booths open at 11 a.m.

• Teddy Bear Band performs on family stage at noon

• Kiddie Tractor Pull near second stage. Registration at 1 p.m., pull at 1:30 p.m.

• American Legion Patriot Program on family stage at 3 p.m.

• Frisbee Dogs at Zitzloff Field at 3, 5 and 7 p.m.

• Balgaard Brothers perform on family stage at noon

• Softball tournaments continue, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Men’s Modified Tournament championship game, 8:30 p.m.

• American Legion Baseball Tournament continues, 11:00 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Championship at 7 p.m.

• Rocket Club performs 8 p.m. to midnight, rain or shine in entertainment tent

• Huge fireworks show at 10:30 p.m.
