Michaela Olson benefit
JUNE 22 — Michaela Olson died suddenly July 1, 2012 due to Histoplasmosis. In her honor, family and friends are putting on a non-profit fund-raiser Saturday, June 22, to raise community awareness regarding this silent and sometimes deadly fungus. Proceeds will sponsor youth mission trips for families that otherwise couldn’t afford to let their children participate. Through this fundraiser organizers hope to reach out to as many people in the community as possible. A motorcycle ride will begin June 22 at noon at Zylstra Harley Davidson in Elk River and will end at the Liberty Restaurant in St. Michael where they’re sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Several raffle items, including a trip to Cancun, are also a part of the day.
