Bands ready to invade Osseo for annual Marching Band Festival

The seventh annual Osseo Marching Band Festival is set to bring the sounds of 16 area marching bands to the streets of Osseo Saturday, June 29. The bands will competing in the festival or will be exhibition bands.

OBFlogoThe day begins with the Band Festival Breakfast Buffet Fundraiser from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at Osseo Junior High School. A menu of Dad’s Belgian waffles will be served along with sausage links, scrambled eggs, cold cereals, bagels, fresh whole fruit, orange juice, coffee, milk and water. Tickets are available at the door and cost only $10 per person. All profits go directly to next years Osseo Marching Band Festival Fund.

The parade begins at noon. The Awards Ceremony will be at 3 p.m. in the Osseo Senior High School stadium. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place in each of the classes. The public is welcome to any or all of these events.

The line up for the parade is as follows: color guard, Robbinsdale City Marching Band (honor band), Richfield High School (Class A), Maple Grove Senior High (Class AA), St. Peter High School (A), Waconia High School (AA), The Patriots Marching Band (Class AAA), Winona Cotter High School (A),  Osseo Alumni Band (exhibition), Champlin Park High School (AA), Park Center High School (AAA), Albany High School (A), Owatonna High School (AA), Henry-Sibley High School (A), Mankato 77 Lancers (AAA), St. Michael-Albertville High School (AA), 728 Cadets Marching Band (AAA) and Osseo High School Band (host band).

The parade of bands will follow the same route as previous Osseo Marching Band Festivals. The route runs from Second Street N.E. beginning at Seventh Ave. N.E. to First Avenue N.E. and then to Fifth Street N.W. into the Osseo Senior High School main entrance. Band will begin staging in the area of the elementary school building.

There will be four performance zones: at Second Street N.E. and Fifth Avenue N.E., at Second Street N.E. and First Avenue N.E. (judging area), at First Avenue N.W. and Third Street N.W. (television area) and at Fifth Street N.E. and Second Avenue N.W.
