National math awardee

RCtylerMathRush Creek Elementary School fifth grade student Tyler Wiens, center, earned a National Award for his participation in the Continental Mathematics League 2012-13 Competition. Continental Math League (CML) is designed to improve and maximize problem solving capabilities. Students participate in five CML meets during the school year competing against other students at the same grade level from schools all over the United States. Tyler achieved a perfect score on every meet which is extremely rare. Only three other fifth graders in the nation were able to accomplish this. Tyler was presented a plaque on May 23 from Beth Carpenter who is the Coordinator of Gifted Education for the Osseo Area Schools and his teacher Brent Esselman.
