Services for Edward M. Lenz, 94 of Rogers and formerly of St. Michael were Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
Casket Bearers were Paul Lenz, Tony Dutton, Sheely Dehn, Jason Lenz, Eric Lenz and Jeff Lenz.
Mr. Lenz died Wednesday, June 5. He was born July 12, 1918, in St. Michael, the youngest of eleven children born to John A. and Margaret (Barthel) Lenz. He was joined in holy marriage to Gertrude Lewis June 26, 1943, at the Church of St. Albert in Albertville.
They have been married for 70 years. Mr. Lenz engaged in dairy farming St. Michael’s east side for many years. He was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of St. Michael, a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #4174, a longtime volunteer fireman, a former board member of Land O Lakes Creamery, and belonged to Crow River Singers.
He enjoyed his family, playing cards, and watching the Twins on TV. Survived by his loving wife, “Gertie”; children, Thomas E. (Phyllis) Lenz of Eden Valley, Bonita “Bonnie” (George) Dutton of Valley City, N.D., Suzanne (Larry) Barthel of Albertville, Kenneth J. (Juleen) Lenz of Plymouth, Robert M. (Ann) Lenz of Tampa, Fla., Gary P. (Patty) Lenz of Albertville, and Daniel M. (Theresa) Lenz of St. Michael; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella LeFebvre of Elk River; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
