Do any residents want to diversify the types of plants they have in their garden, but don’t want to spend a lot of money? Or is someone looking for an inexpensive way to start a garden. If so the perennial exchange is the perfect thing for them.
On Saturday, June 8, a perennial plant exchange will take place in the parking lot near the skate park at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road. The event begins and 9:15 a.m. Plants usually trade quickly.
Anyone interested can come on out with excess perennials that have been in the ground for three years or more and exchange them for something new. A few plants that are easily divided right now are: hostas, hydrangeas, coneflower, rudbeckia, phlox, forget-me-nots, sedum, day lilies and so many more. New and experienced gardeners are welcome to trade their perennials at the fun and free event.
