Monday, May 20

Officer received information that a Rogers High School student was possibly under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. A staff member said she smelled the odor of alcoholic beverage on the student’s breath. The student was brought to the office and given a Preliminary Breath Test that showed a reading of .063. The student was issued a citation and turned over to his parents.

Dispatched to a 911 hang-up at the 13800 block of Rose Dr. Determined a six year old was directed by her mother to call 911 because a 1 year old baby was hit in the face this morning by his father. Determined the victim had demonstrable bodily harm to his face. Father admitted to hitting his child with an open hand because the child was being loud and wouldn’t eat the food that was cooked for him. Ambulance and crime lab responded. Augustine Hoanganh Mai, 37,  was arrested for felony malicious punishment to a child under four years old causing injury to his head and transported to jail without incident.

Tuesday, May 21

Officer stopped a pickup truck for a cracked windshield and passengers who were not wearing seatbelts at South Diamond Lake Road and Rogers Drive. The driver was arrested for offering a false name to the Officer by displaying another person’s driver’s license. The driver was found to also have a Ramsey County warrant. The two passengers were both cited for no seatbelt and released. One valid passenger was allowed to take the truck. The driver was booked at the Hennepin County Jail. Cited were Leif Norman Hansen, 26, and Anthony Thomas (Cited) Saldana, 29; arrested was Joshua Anthony Saldana,  30.

Dana Michelle Walter, 26, was cited for driving after suspension, seatbelt and no front license plate at Main Street and South Diamond Lake Road.

Pamely Joy Allen, 55, was cited for misuse of handicap permit at 21615 South Diamond Lake Rd. Driver’s husband is the permit owner but was not present.

Officer observed a suspicious vehicle on Bluebill Avenue by North Community Park. Officers located marijuana in the vehicle and occupants admitted to selling it in Rogers tonight. Parties were released at scene with charges pending and case is being investigated by a detective.

Wednesday, May 22

Officer observed a vehicle in the ditch at George Weber Driver and David Koch Avenue. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle who appeared to under the influence. Officer performed standardized Field Sobriety Tests on the driver and determined the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. The driver was very confused and disoriented so North Memorial Paramedics were dispatched to the scene to examine him. Driver was transported to the Maple Grove Hospital where he was checked by medical staff. Driver submitted to a urine test and was transported to Hennepin County Jail where he was booked for 4th Degree DWI. Troy Michael Stewart, 27, was arrested.

Friday, May 24

Officer responded to a dog vs. dog attack at 21700 Evergreen Trail. Victim dog owner reported the second occurrence of the suspect dog attacking within the last two months. Her other dog was attacked by the same dog. Two parties attempted to pry the subject pitbulls jaw from the victim dog who sustained a puncture wound to the chest. The dog was deemed Dangerous and seized by RPD. It was brought to Monticello animal control for a 10 day quarantine. The dog owner, Nicole Marie Riggs, 20, was cited for dog at large and failing to register the dog, both petty misdemeanors.

Saturday, May 25

Officer conducted a traffic stop at Richard Street and Rogers Drive and arrested the driver for gross misdemeanor no insurance, third degree driving while intoxicated and driving after revocation. Chase Gordy Lee Olmsted, 29 was transported and booked into Hennepin County Jail.

A single car vs. pedestrian crash occurring on 20900 block of Rogers Drive. The pedestrian was deceased on arrival. An investigation is underway with assistance from Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Sunday, May 26

Officer observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit at Main Street and I-94. Vehicle stopped. Officer determined that the driver had drug paraphernalia and marijuana in the vehicle. Cited was Samuel Richard Woltering, 23.

Teresa Lynn Sanzone, 41, was arrested for driving after cancellation at I-94 and Main Street.

Officer was conducting a check of the North Community Park parking lot at the end of Bluebill Ave and noticed an occupied vehicle. Upon investigation of the vehicle and occupants, it was determined that they were smoking marijuana in the vehicle. Citations issued to Austin David Derouin, 19, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Monday, May 27

Dispatch advised of a subject who had fallen at Super 8 Hotel. Upon arrival, Officers determined that the subject was very intoxicated. North Memorial Ambulance arrived and also determined that the subject had high blood sugar. The subject was transported voluntarily to Maple Grove Hospital by North Memorial.

Officers responded to an assault at 13400 Rogers Dr. in which all parties were separated when Officers arrived. Officers spoke to witnesses and two victims, however the suspect was not located. Both victims did not want to pursue charges nor did they want medical attention. One party that was involved in the altercation was asked not to come back into the business, but was allowed to stay in his truck overnight on the property.
