Rockford boys dominate CMC golf conference

Not only did Rockford win the Central Minnesota Conference boys golf title by a commanding 102 strokes, five Rockets earned All-Conference honors.

Rockford had a team total of 1159 strokes for the seven conference meets. Osakis was second with 1261 and BBE took third at 1270.

The Rockets finished league play by winning its home meet at Shamrock. Brody Harstad was the medalist with a round of 38. Ty Griffin shot 39, Alex Shaikoski 40 and Ben Skinner had 42.

Individually, Rockford had five players ranked in the top six. Griffin was second, Harstad third, Shaikoski fifth and Keith Propson and Ben Skinner tied for sixth.

After six conference girls events, Rockford ranked fifth out of seven teams. Junior Rachel Clem ranks 12th overall, followed by sophomore Haley Woodrich (21), sophomore Kasey Reed (26), sophomore Lexie Clark (28), eighth-grader Abby Scribner (35) and eighth-grader Nicole Loftstedt (37).

The section tournament starts Thursday, May 30 at Pebble Creek in Becker.
