Steve McKee benefit

JUNE 1 — A benefit for Steve McKee is Saturday, June 1, at the St. Michael American Legion, 25 Central Ave. E, St. Michael.

He was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma March 7. He has a mass in his chest wall tissue wedged between his left lung, heart, spine, and aorta valve. He already had one surgery to remove part of the tumor affecting his spine. The evening will include a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 3 to 7 p.m. The CRB Band will perform from 8 p.m. to close. Featuring cash bar, cash donations at the door will be greatly appreciated. Spaghetti dinner tickets are $15, kids 3 and under free. Lions tractor pull

JUNE 1 — The annual Corcoran Lions Tractor Pull is Saturday, June 1, at 7 p.m. at the Corcoran Lions Park. Free parking, more than $3,200 paid out in prizes. Admission is $10 for ages 12 and up, $5 for 4 to 11, and 3 and under free. For more information and an entry form, contact Russ Poppler at 763-238-4525.

Hockey fund-raiser

JUNE 8 — The STMA Boys High School Hockey Blue Line Club will be hosting a pork chop dinner fund-raiser during Albertville Friendly City Days. The dinner will be Friday, June 7 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the Albertville Lions Shelter.

Dinner pricing: 1 chop meal – $9; 2 chop meal – $11; 1 chop meal senior citizen – $8; 2 chop meal senior citizen – $10; and 1 chop meal family of 4 meal – $32.

Proceeds from the dinner benefit the STMA Boys High School Hockey team. Come and join for a great dinner and support the team.

Kiddie Parade

JUNE 8 — The MOMS Club of Albertville will be sponsoring a Kiddie Parade Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. All children are welcome to attend. Carnival ride tickets will be awarded to the “most festive” participants in two age groups. Come in costume, decorate your bike and bring friends to ride together. Line-up is in the parking lot of the Albertville Fire Station.

Toddler Town and Fair Hair

JUNE 8 — The MOMS Club of Albertville will be providing a safe, enclosed play area for toddlers ages three and under just south of the Lions Pavilion. Included will be small play equipment, games, prizes and a diaper changing station. Toddler Town will be open on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parents are responsible for watching their own children. MOMS Club of Albertville will also be hosting Fair Hair at the same time. Have your hair colored, spiked and sprayed in a fun way for the fair. Cost is $4 and proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Artsoup 2013

JUNE 15 — Sponsored by the Arts Alliance this free, fun, family-friendly festival is being hosted Saturday, June 15, in downtown Elk River. See artists displaying and selling their work and performing during the day. There will be Art Tents offering children’s art activities and showcasing Community Arts groups, a Juried Art Show and tours of the new Arts Alliance Art Center. Performances by Paul Imholte, Jared Schreifels, 340 Magnums, North Ballet, Strings for Youth and much more. Local restaurants will be offering outdoor dining and festival foods.
